Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid receives praise from former WR Kadarius Toney During a recent interview with the 'New Rory and Mal' podcast, Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney expressed his appreciation for head coach Andy Reid and his immediacy in implementing him into the playbook. "He (Andy Reid) implemented all he's going back to watching Florida film," said Toney, "Oh, yeah, I like how he did this motion right here. That's kind of where the motion comes in at in the Super Bowl. That's where that comes in. He liked the way I did the one against Tennessee (Volunteers). In my senior year, he said we could do something like this, but without you doing that, we gonna bring you back because the way they defense scheme. He was a real guru. I love Coach Reid. Man, I swear that's my favorite person right now." Toney battled injuries from training camp in 2024, contributing to his eventual release. In his last season with the Chiefs, in 2023, he tallied 169 yards and a touchdown on 27 receptions.

Kadarius Toney reflects on teaming with Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes During a recent interview with the 'New Rory and Mal' podcast, Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney discussed his relationship with quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the field. "The moment I realized that, like one practice, the man threw some like a jump (pass). It was a crazy pass, I don't know what kind of pass he threw. Man, I wish I had recorded it on film. The man threw a crazy pass. I'm like, yeah, he's different," said Toney, "I ain't never seen nobody doing like, they're not even playing an overall video, and it was on the money. But our chemistry started when I first got there, because when I first got there, we're talking a lot of just spending more time, like, we just run around, let's do this, or whatever, it was kind of easy for me to catch on, to get involved early, the coaches kind of made it an emphasis, like, oh yeah, we got to make sure y'all put y'all time to make sure everything kind of on point, because we need you right now." Toney was a key part of Kansas City's Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles two years ago. He was hampered by multiple injuries, including knee surgery during his tenure, finishing his last season with the Chiefs with 169 yards and a touchdown on 27 receptions. He was released on August 27, 2024, after the team's training camp.

Kansas City Chiefs OL Trey Smith opens up about Patrick Mahomes' locker room impact During a recent interview with the 'New Rory and Mal' podcast, Kansas City Chiefs offensive guard Trey Smith discussed how unique a player Patrick Mahomes is, which stretches beyond his performances on the field during games. "Honestly, the stuff that you guys don't see in practice will blow your mind the most, nonchalant around the back, under the leg," said Smith, "just crazy stuff that he does that's just like, when you rewind it, you're like 'man, he really did just throw that perfectly." Since becoming the full-time starting quarterback, Mahomes has earned a reputation for gifting his offensive line during the season. Smith revealed some of his favorite gifts from the two-time league MVP. "There are probably not enough good things I could say about Pat," said Smith. One thing I could say is that he gifted me one of the most valuable possessions: two Rolex watches. He got us a golf cart, a fully tricked-out club cart, all new golf clubs, and Oakley sunglasses. The list goes on and on and on." Smith is working with the front office on a new potential contract extension to keep the Pro Bowler in Kansas City. The offseason is in full swing, and fans will follow the negotiation updates closely.
