During a recent interview with the 'New Rory and Mal' podcast, Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney discussed his relationship with quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the field.
"The moment I realized that, like one practice, the man threw some like a jump (pass). It was a crazy pass, I don't know what kind of pass he threw. Man, I wish I had recorded it on film. The man threw a crazy pass. I'm like, yeah, he's different," said Toney, "I ain't never seen nobody doing like, they're not even playing an overall video, and it was on the money. But our chemistry started when I first got there, because when I first got there, we're talking a lot of just spending more time, like, we just run around, let's do this, or whatever, it was kind of easy for me to catch on, to get involved early, the coaches kind of made it an emphasis, like, oh yeah, we got to make sure y'all put y'all time to make sure everything kind of on point, because we need you right now."
Toney was a key part of Kansas City's Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles two years ago. He was hampered by multiple injuries, including knee surgery during his tenure, finishing his last season with the Chiefs with 169 yards and a touchdown on 27 receptions.
He was released on August 27, 2024, after the team's training camp.

His wRC+ was 157 through those games, well above the league average of 100, and a call-up to Triple-A came in mid-May. Just 12 games (and six more homers) later, and Caglianone's power swing is considered ready for MLB action. Maybe it's that Kansas City has averaged fewer than three runs per game over the past week or so, but Caglianone was always going to be a quick call-up. The Royals' offensive woes accelerated the process, though. Now, with a decent amount of pressure on his shoulders, Caglianone is set to take his first MLB swings.
