Geri Halliwell-Horner cuts a chic figure in all white as she reveals surprising reason why she puts on different accents during Virgin Radio appearance
Geri Halliwell-Horner cut a chic figure in all-white as she revealed why she sometimes speaks in different accents during an appearance on Virgin Radio on Tuesday. The former Spice Girl, 52, was glowing as she left the London-based radio studio in white flared jeans and a matching sweater vest, which she layered over a frilly top. She added a cream wool blazer with pearl details and strutted around in nude boots to complete her look. Geri accessorised with dainty pearl earrings to match and wore her auburn locks in loose curls as she departed the studios. She opted for a glamorous palette of makeup to elevate her natural beauty and seemed to be in high spirits following her interview on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show. While live on air during the appearance, Geri got a phone call from an unknown number. The former Spice Girl, 52, was glowing as she left the London-based radio studio in white flared jeans and a matching sweater vest, which she layered over a frilly top She said: 'Let's have a look who that is… it's not anyone interesting. It was a random number. 'Do you know what I do when someone calls me if I get a random number? I put on an accent in case they want to steal your voice.' The revelation comes just after Geri left This Morning viewers baffled when she showed off not one, but three different accents during her appearance on an episode earlier this month. The singer was on the ITV daytime show to discuss her brand new best-selling children's book Rosie Frost: Ice On Fire. Her new book - which retails from £7.99 - is the second in a trilogy that began with the 2023 bestseller Rosie Frost And The Falcon Queen. Revealing what the book is about, she told hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond: 'Rosie Frost, she is set in present day, she's orphaned, but this is un-airbrushed orphan grieving and she's sent to an island. 'The island is a bit like Jurassic Park but for endangered animals at a school built by Queen Elizabeth I. 'She's sent there, they are all descendants of Tudors. So if you like history it's all in there. 'It's then a page-turning action adventure, and she has to find the courage to face up to bullies. She opted for a glamorous palette of makeup to elevate her natural beauty and seemed to be in high spirits following her interview on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show 'It's the second book and she finds out her mother was murdered and wants revenge. And there's a little bit of love in there as well.' 'Is it true that she sneaks out as well, and this is based on you?' Alison asked, before adding: 'She's a little bit naughty and she sneaks out to see boys.' Geri clarified: 'I wouldn't go as far as that but I'm always borrowing little bits. You know, whether it's from inside of yourself or other people. 'You know, you'll find yourself in these characters.' Turning her attention back to what the book is about, she continued: 'This book is about revenge, you know the ricochet of revenge. For example, if I do something bad to you and then you do it back. 'It just goes bang, bang, bang, but afterwards you feel a bit icky. She behaves quite badly in it but then realises, was it worth it? It looks at that.' Dermot then asked the singer where she gets her ideas from when it comes to the inspiration behind her work. Geri replied: 'I'm a bit of a curious, lazy, nerd. Like you, you're always finding out about things. I just wouldn't it be nice if the world had a new hero. 'Someone that's not prefect. That if I see it, I can be it. Boys cry but they are not wet wipes. You know there's all different kinds of characters. You'll find yourself in there. 'Not airbrush, not perfect. I thought we need that. But it's also entertaining and funny, and real.' Revealing how long the book took to write, she said: 'This one took 18 months, I'm writing the third in the trilogy now. It's a dream come true.' When asked if she would ever want to play the characters she has written, the noughties star replied: 'I thought I would want to play a teacher if it became a film. I do the accents for the audio book. 'You haven't got a Brummy in there, but I do some accents.' 'What accents do you do?' Alison asked, before Geri said: 'I had an acting accent coach there.' She then switched into a Southern American accent as she described one of the characters. 'She's like 'oh my God Alison, you got to be out of your mind'.' Geri then put on an Irish accent as she said: 'Then we got a Dermot, he's kind of just Dermot, 'what are you talking about?'' Finally, Geri changed into a French accent. 'Then we have Madame Lure, 'you're just so elegant. I'm so proud of you',' she said. 'You're so good. I want to listen to the audio now. I'm not going to read the book,' Alison gushed. In her Virgin radio interview, Geri shared that the film adaptation of her first Rosie Frost book could be on-screen by 2027 - confirming that the 'biggest producer in Hollywood' has the rights to the series. She said: 'We're looking at the writer now to make the scripts…I get to help choose Rosie, and they're including me and they are just amazing people.'

Geri Horner says ‘there will be' Spice Girls reunion with full line-up despite fallout rumours
Geri Horner has said all five Spice Girls will perform together at some point in the future. The five members of the group have not performed together since the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, a 2019 reunion going ahead without Victoria Beckham. But Horner told The Sunday Times 'there will be something' with all five members involved. 'My hope is we come back together as a collective,' she said. 'It's more respectful to come as one. We'll come as one.' Despite rumours of a falling out with fellow band member Melanie Brown, Horner said all five Spice Girls are in a group chat. Horner, who releases her latest children's book series Rosie Frost: Ice On Fire in April, also scotched suggestions she had changed her surname to Halliwell-Horner. Her marriage to Christian Horner, principal of the Red Bull Racing Formula One team, came under the spotlight when he was accused of inappropriate behaviour towards a female employee. He was cleared by an internal investigation and after a subsequent appeal, but the story resurfaced in recent weeks when it was covered in the latest series of Netflix's Formula 1: Drive To Survive. 'We like playing games. We're quite silly,' she said before dismissing the name change, saying Halliwell-Horner was her writing name. 'I haven't legally changed anything – Horner is the name on my passport.' LAte last year Mel B reportedly hit out at her former Spice Girls bandmates with a tongue-in-cheek remark over their supposed reluctance to do another reunion tour. The pop singer, who was born Melanie Brown and known during her time in the chart-topping girl group as Scary Spice, featured as a guest captain in an episode of Never Mind the Buzzcocks. In the episode Brown was questioned as to why she was kicked out of the Spice Girls WhatsApp chat, something she previously discussed back in April. 'Because I'm Northern and say what I think and feel and I'm constantly saying to the girls, 'We need to go back on tour,'' she responded, according to The Sun. Asked again why she was 'ditched', she apparently retorted: 'Because they're d***heads.'
