Dundee United v St Mirren stats: Mikael Mandron the dangerman
Courier Sport spotlights a few facts and figures ahead of a crunch showdown. Dundee United could punch their ticket to Europe this weekend. If the Tangerines beat in-form St Mirren at Tannadice – opening an unassailable gap of eight points with two games left to play – then continental qualification will be assured for Jim Goodwin's side. It would be a laudable achievement for the Terrors, given they are newly promoted and continuing to work with a modest budget following the excesses of the 2022/23 campaign. United have used the second-fewest players in the league this term. However, the Buddies will be aiming to pile the pressure on the Terrors, who are without Ross Graham and have THREE further injury doubts in the heart of defence. If the Paisley side win, just two points will separate the teams in the race for Europe. Manny Adegboyega celebrates United's crucial second goal in a win over St Mirren in November. Image: SNS Here, Courier Sport spotlights some of the key stats ahead of a potentially season defining contest, courtesy of Opta. 5 Dundee United vs St Mirren stats Mikael Mandron has scored four goals in his last three away league starts for St Mirren, while 83% of his Scottish Premiership goals this season have come on the road. That is the highest ratio of ANY of the 41 players with five or more goals in the league. Dundee United have won all three of their league games against St Mirren this season. The last side the Tangerines won four times against in a single top-flight campaign were Aberdeen in 1998/99. St Mirren have only suffered one defeat in their last six league games (W3 D2) – that was in their last away game at Dundee in April (0-2). St Mirren have only lost one of their last five away league games at Dundee United (W3 D1), although that was their most recent one, in November this season (0-2). Dundee United are aiming to avoid a third successive Premiership defeat, something that has only happened one other time this season, losing to Rangers, Kilmarnock and Celtic during January and February.

East Kilbride abuser must tell social workers of new relationships
Ross Graham previously admitted to assaulting a woman at a flat in Mountblow, Clydebank, where he seized her by the hair, pushed her against furniture, causing her to fall. The 24-year-old sat on top of her, compressed her knock, restricting her breathing. The incident on June 25, 2023 was all to her injury and permanent disfigurement. And it was aggravated against his partner or ex. The resident of Glen Moy, East Kilbride, returned to Dumbarton Sheriff Court on April 29 for sentencing. But the day before, he had been sentenced for a similar offence at Glasgow Sheriff Court. There he was put on a three-year order where he has to do the Caledonian Men's Programme to tackle his abusive ways. He must also do 225 hours of unpaid work in the community, and attend addiction services. But the court also said he must "report any future intimate partners to social work". Sheriff Mulgrew said given the comprehensive court order in Glasgow, it wouldn't be necessary to add to it. He imposed a second community payback order with supervision for three years on top of the Glasgow one. He told Graham: "You pleaded guilty to a serious charge of domestic assault of a former partner. The court has to take into account the circumstances of the offence, your young age and limited record, but also the comprehensive order made at Glasgow yesterday." This is a direct alternative to custody.

'Just break this dreary run'
We asked for your views on Dundee United's defeat to Hibernian on what some of you said:Eddie: Setting your team up not to lose isn't the same as setting your team up to win a game. Far too often Jim Goodwin has had to change the team and system at half-time due to him setting up the team far too A back three doesn't work against teams like Celtic or Hibs who use the width well, Vicko Sevelj's best position is centre mid. If you play two centre forwards - you need wingers to supply, also forced Jack Walton to kick long & his kicking can sometimes lack quality. We have not been the same hard, resilient team during 2025 - losing Kevin Holt and injuries to Ross Graham & Luca Stephenson & Craig Sibbald have not helped - plus David Babunski has not reached his potential. I really enjoyed watching United before New Year but the record so far this year is not good - unfortunately we may lose several players over summer and have to re-build againDavid: I think it was the wrong decision from the manager to tell players their contract was not being extended before the season was finished. Players are less likely to give 100% and risk injury if they think they'll have to find another club when the season is over. I think that was evident with Declan Gallagher yesterday. He's been great all season but made some glaring mistakes United were woeful in the first half especially in defence but after a transformation in the second half, they deserved something from this game. Since Holt left and Goodwin naively told Declan Gallagher with five games to go he wasn't getting a new contract at the end of the season showed poor man management. The defence has been a shambles with the normally reliable Gallagher making an uncharacteristic schoolboy error for the first. United lack the depth in their squad to stay competitive with injuries to key players Ross Graham and Luca Stephenson not United need to win against St Mirren. Just break this dreary run. We have the tools just need to put a performance together, we cannot be as poor defensively as we were at Easter Road. Onwards and definitely upwards!Denis: Another poor team selection by the manager. The January signings have all been very disappointing. When we reached the top six we were in a strong position to finish third but are now looking over our shoulder at St Mirren who can beat us to fifth. Hopefully we don't see a repeat of zero wins after the split. Some serious recruitment required.
