(Robert Lothian/CTV News Windsor) The Rotary Club LaSalle Centennial alongside representatives from the Town of LaSalle opened the latest addition to LaSalle Landing on Saturday afternoon. Moments after cutting the ribbon on the Rotary Circle, jets began to spray beams of water to mark the space's official opening. Mary Lou Amlin, a past club president and the chair of the legacy committee, said the project was many years in the making. 'To see the kids here is just fantastic and it really just, you know, fulfills our dream of giving back to the community,' Amlin said. It's made up of 24 spray jets, and shade sails, and could be used for fire pits and performances depending on the season. Fundraising to create the outdoor space continues with the club nearing its goal of $132,000. 'So far we've raised $114,000,' Amlin said. 'We're very close, so that's why I said, just help us get over the top and we'll be all set.' The circle is part of the 'loop phase' of the larger $9 million town project, which includes a walking path that converts to an outdoor skate trail in the Winter.
