I'm taking on the challenge of walking the length of the Island
As thousands gear up to take on the challenge of walking the length of the Isle of Wight, I will be joining them - and doing a Walk the Wight blog for the County Press along the way!
Walk the Wight, organised by Mountbatten Isle of Wight, celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.
Participants can choose from four miles to either the first or second half, or the bravest take on the full walk, from Bembridge to Alum Bay.
I've only ever done the second half, but when presented with a challenge and the chance to spotlight an amazing event for a brilliant cause, I decided I would do the full thing this year.

What was making the news on the Isle of Wight on this week in the past?
If you would like to donate to Mountbatten by sponsoring me, I have set up a fundraising page on its website.
To test my legs, I successfully walked 15 miles from East Cowes to Ventnor a couple of weeks ago, enjoying the sunshine and enduring the hill up to the Worsley monument.
Now, I'm ready to do the full walk, and I'll be live-blogging for the County Press along the way.
I hope to see some County Press readers on the walk on Sunday, May 11, and if you see me, come and say hi!
Don't forget to send your photos to editor@ on the day!
