CHINA GROVE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Authorities are seeking a suspected after a driver was injured in a reported shooting in southern Rowan County Friday evening. According to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Interstate 85 North near mile marker 68. It's where an apparent road rage incident allegedly occurred, and the victim was transported to a hospital. Suspects identified in Statesville shootout that began at job fair still on the run: Sheriff The suspect vehicle is described as a white Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended-cab truck with possible yellow writing on it. The vehicle was last seen northbound on I-85 traveling into Davidson County. A fight led to an officer and a deputy being hurt while working at the Cheerwine Festival over the weekend. On Saturday, officers from the Salisbury Police Department and deputies from the Rowan County Sheriff's Office responded to an incident involving 5 to 10 juveniles. ALSO READ: Juveniles accused of racist graffiti at Belmont comic store While trying to break up the fight, an officer and a deputy were injured. According to reports, the officer, who was with the police department, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a severe concussion. The deputy with the sheriff's office was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a fractured hip. Eventually, all the juveniles involved in this incident were taken to the Salisbury Police Department. They were later released to their parents. An investigation into whether or not upgrading charges would be appropriate due to the injuries to the law enforcement officers is ongoing. Two arrests were made in connection to a weekend string of thefts in Salisbury, where a stolen forklift was allegedly used to move a stolen Ford Ranger filled with pilfered items, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Rowan County Sheriff's Office. Four men charged in construction theft Deputies responded to a report of a stolen forklift on Sunday and later found it being operated by Richard Casey Webb and Christy Lane Tipton on Cooper Road. Webb used the forklift to move a stolen Ford Ranger, which was later found with stolen items in its bed, the sheriff's office stated in a news release. Witnesses reported seeing Webb drive a Ford Ranger pickup to Karriker Farm Road, where he allegedly stole the forklift. He then used the forklift to lift the Ford Ranger and remove it from the area. The Ford Ranger was discovered in a wooded area off Deal Road, containing several items confirmed to be stolen from other locations. Webb and Tipton were charged with possession of the stolen forklift. Additionally, Webb was charged with damage to real property for damaging a field while driving the Ford Ranger into the woods, the sheriff's office said. Both suspects were placed in the Rowan County Detention Center. Tipton received a $1,000 secured bond, while Webb was held without bond due to the pretrial integrity act. ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two people have been charged after being caught stealing a forklift, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office. On March 30, deputies responded to the report on Karriker Farm Road in Salisbury. The forklift was found about 8 miles away on Cooper Road, being operated by Richard Casey Webb, who was with Christy Lane Tipton. Witnesses saw Webb drive a Ford Ranger pickup to the location on Karriker Farm Road and was later seen driving away in the forklift. Officials said the stolen forklift was used to pick up the Ford Ranger, which was also reportedly stolen, and remove it from the area. The Ford Ranger was found on Deal Road and had several items in the truck bed that were confirmed to have been stolen from other locations. Webb and Tipton were both charged with possession of the stolen forklift. Webb was also reportedly charged with damage to real property when he damaged the field that he drove across and left the Ford Ranger in the woods. Both suspects were booked into the Rowan County Detention Center. Tipton received a $1,000 secured bond, and Webb received no bond due to the pretrial integrity act. Authorties say more charges could be pending from Tipton and Webb allegedly being involved in other reports of stolen items from over the weekend.
