Wedding day a rollercoaster ride for couple at Emerald Park

A wedding after 25 years together was really a rollercoaster ride for one couple who spent their special day at Emerald Park. Roy Murray (56) and Delphine Coudray (47) decided to do something unique to mark their wedding day and so headed for Emerald Park to ride some rollercoasters for the first time in their lives. "Delphine proposed to me last year because it was a leap year and I wasn't expecting it but of course I said yes!," said Roy who works in Crinion's Furniture Store. The couple got married in the Ardboyne Hotel in Navan on Monday with their children as witnesses and then had a barbecue at their house before heading off to the fun venue in Ratoath. "We wanted to do something a little different and something with our children and it was a bit cloudy for the beach so it was Emerald Park. We started off on the children's rollercoasters and worked up the courage for the Cuchulainn which was fun," he said. It was so scary, it was so much fun," said the employee of Animation Ireland. "The views from the top were amazing, I wish we could've stayed up there a little bit longer. "I've always dropped the children, who are in their 20s, at Emerald Park over the years but I've never been so it was a fantastic day to spend there with them. They have always loved Emerald Park and were running around like they were teenagers again," she laughed. A spokesperson for Emerald Park offered the couple huge congratulations and said they were sorry they were not made aware of the big occasion it was for them on Monday. The park has offered the couple complimentary tickets if they wished to return at any stage to ride the roller coasters again.
