President of Iran accorded official reception at Al Alam Palace
Muscat: An official reception ceremony was held at Al Alam Palace today in honour of President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the occasion of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman. Upon the arrival of the Iranian President's motorcade at the courtyard of Al Alam Palace, a cavalcade from the Royal Cavalry lined up to welcome the Sultanate of Oman's esteemed guest. When the vehicle boarded by President Pezeshkian arrived at Al Alam Palace, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave a warm welcome to the President, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in Oman and a successful visit. Then, His Majesty the Sultan accompanied President Pezeshkian to the dais where the Iranian national anthem was played, while the artillery fired a 21-gun salute to the President. After this protocol, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with the official delegation accompanying President Pezeshkian. The President was greeted by Omani Royal dignitaries, ministers and military commanders.

Royal Cavalry concludes participation in Royal Windsor Horse Show
LONDON: The Royal Cavalry of the Royal Court Affairs (RCA) concluded its participation in the Royal Windsor Horse Show, held at the grounds of the British Royal Windsor Castle, with the involvement of specialised equestrian teams from several countries worldwide. The Royal Cavalry participated under the theme 'The Sultanate of Oman: Jewel of Arabia', during which its male and female riders presented diverse displays of traditional Omani equestrian arts, such as 'Ardha' galloping and horse hypnosis show, accompanied by Omani, Arabic and international musical pieces performed by the Royal Cavalry Band. Eng Hilal Mohammed al Wa'eli, Head of the Royal Horses, Camels, Farms and Gardens Affairs at the Royal Court Affairs, stated that the Royal Cavalry's participation in the Royal Windsor Horse Show featured various traditional equestrian performances accompanied by diverse musical pieces played by the Royal Cavalry Band, which were highly praised by the audience. He emphasised that the Royal Cavalry's participation in such global events underscores Oman's dedication to horses and equestrianism, highlighting the prestigious status it has achieved in this field. On his turn, Dr Sarhan Salim al Zidi, Director-General of the Royal Cavalry, noted that the Royal Cavalry's participation in the Royal Windsor Horse Show reaffirms the advanced ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom. He added that it was an excellent opportunity for the Royal Cavalry's riders to exchange expertise with participants from various world countries. Al Zidi stressed that such events serve as a platform to promote Oman's rich cultural and civilisational heritage, as well as its tourism. During the show, the Royal Cavalry presented a visual display showcasing Oman's most prominent heritage and natural tourist attractions. The Royal Windsor Horse Show is one of the world's most prestigious equestrian events, first held in 1943. Oman's horses show amazes UK audience
MUSCAT, MAY 18 The Royal Court Affairs (RCA) represented by the Royal Cavalry joined the third day of the Royal Windsor Horse Show 2025, under the auspice of king Charles III, at the stunning private grounds of Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom from May 15 to 18. The event was attended by Badr bin Mohammed al Mantheri, Ambassador of Oman to the UK, Eng Hilal al Waeli, Head of Horses, Camels, Farms and Royal Gardens Affairs, and Dr Sarhan al Zeedi, Director General of the Royal Cavalry. The Royal Cavalry presented traditional Oman's horse sports and music, with riders showing skills like Ardah 'traditional horse running' and horse sleeping shows, along with played Omani, Arabic, and international music. The Oman show started with a video called 'Oman, the Jewel of Arabia' which is showing the country's beauty and culture. Then, two horse carriages carrying the flags of Oman and the UK entered the arena, riders spread Omani Luban' frankincense' around the arena, which excited the crowd. The riders and band entered the arena to the music 'Jewel of Arabia.' They formed beautiful shapes to music like 'Desert Nights' and 'The Distance Became One.' The audience cheered during the Ardah show and the horse 'sleeping' display with bagpipe music. Later, they formed the English letters RWHS (Royal Windsor Horse Show) while the band played 'Two Shores and One Song.' They ended the show with the famous English tune 'Greensleeves.' Ambassador Al Mantheri said 'This event shows the strong historic ties between Oman and the UK. And horse sports are a key part of Omani identity'. Harry Guthrie, Director of the Windsor Show, said: 'We are always happy to welcome the Oman Royal Cavalry. Their rich culture and amazing shows are a joy to see. Their music, drums and horses are always a big part of our event.'
