Morocco crowned Best African Tennis Nation for the 7th consecutive year
Morocco has once again asserted its dominance on the African tennis scene. For the seventh consecutive year, the Kingdom was awarded the Trophy for the Best Tennis Nation in Africa on Saturday in Cairo, during the closing ceremony of the African U14 Team Championships. The ceremony took place in the presence of Morocco's ambassador to Egypt, Mohamed Ait Ouali, who praised the outstanding achievements of young Moroccan talents in various categories (U14, U16, and U18) on the continental stage. With a total of 2,100 points, the Moroccan teams were far ahead of their competitors: Tunisia (1,440 points) and Egypt (1,420 points), thus reaffirming their supremacy in African tennis. Zakaria Zemrani, a member of the board of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation (FRMT) and head of the delegation present in Cairo, told MAP that this title crowns the ongoing efforts of the Federation. He emphasized the importance of supporting national clubs, training coaches and mentors, and backing athletes on the international stage. For Mr. Zemrani, the emergence of Moroccan champions capable of excelling in the most prestigious international competitions remains one of the FRMT's major goals.

Morocco secures 7th consecutive African Best Tennis Nation trophy
Morocco has claimed the title of Best Tennis Nation in Africa, awarded by the African Tennis Confederation (CAT), for the seventh year in a row. This distinction was granted in recognition of the outstanding performances by young Moroccan tennis players in various African championships. It is based on results from the 2025 African Youth Championships in the under-14, under-16, and under-18 categories, as well as bonus points earned from the CAJ 14&U competitions during the fourth quarter of 2024, according to a letter sent Wednesday by CAT President Jean-Claude Talon to Faïçal Laraïchi, President of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation. The trophy will be officially presented to Morocco during the closing ceremony of the African Youth Team Championship (under-14), which will take place in Cairo from May 5 to 10, 2025, the same source added.

Rabat – The African Tennis Confederation has once again named Morocco the 'Best Nation's Trophy' for the year 2025. This is the seventh year in a row that Morocco has received the honor. 'For the 7th consecutive year, Morocco takes home the Best Nation's Trophy, thanks to their top performances across all age categories at the African Junior Championships,' said the Confederation of African Tennis in a statement. The recognition comes in the wake of the strong performances of young Moroccan tennis players in African tournaments. Moroccan players competed in different age categories and achieved great results this year. In a letter sent on Wednesday, the President of the African Tennis Confederation, Jean Claude Talon, informed the President of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation, Fayçal Laraichi, about the award. He said that Morocco earned this recognition based on its players' success in the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 African championships held in 2025. Morocco also collected important points during the Under-14 African championship that took place in the last quarter of 2024. The official award will be handed to Morocco during the closing ceremony of the African Team Championship for the Under-14 category. The event will be held in Cairo, Egypt, from May 5 to 10. Following behind Morocco is Tunisia in second place and Egypt in third. 'Well done to the Royal Moroccan Federation of Tennis and to all the nations for their efforts and sportsmanship throughout the year!' the confederation concluded.
