Curve's chief executive Chris Stafford and artistic director Nikolai Foster said: "Legally Blonde is firmly established in the musical theatre repertoire as a contemporary classic and it's a pleasure to be reunited with 'Little Miss Woods - comma - Elle' in the 2020s. "Laurence O'Keefe, Nell Benjamin and Heather Hach's electrifying musical about empowerment, equality and the folly of judging a book by its cover remains pitch perfect and as relevant as ever. "We have assembled a 'mad props' creative team and together we are looking forward to creating a fresh, fun and sunny SoCal production of this great musical. "And following the incredible success of Kinky Boots, it's a thrill to collaborate again with our friends at Royo. "We can't wait to share the show with audiences across the UK and Europe after Elle takes over Curve early 2026." Tickets are on sale now at The rom-com follows Elle Woods on her journey from fashionista to legal ace at Harvard Law School, all in the name of love. Elle must prove she is more than blonde ambition, swap the changing rooms for the courtroom and learn that 'being true to yourself never goes out of style.' Mayflower Theatre is a Grade II listed building and Mayflower Studios is a creative producing theatre and is open to all even if it's just for coffee or to meet in the city centre location.

Texas A&M second baseman makes Baseball America's NCAA 'Freaks List'
Texas A&M second baseman makes Baseball America's NCAA 'Freaks List' Texas A&M's 2025 baseball season is composed of too many storylines to count, but the rise of several unknowns on the roster, led by former Rice second baseman Ben Royo, has led to the Aggies late-season run that has them close to making the postseason despite sitting 14th in the SEC standings. As we all know, it takes a team effort in baseball to get past any losing streak, and while stars Caden Sorrell, Jace LaViolette, and Wyatt Henseler remain the big-time names in the lineup, Royo's offense, especially in clutch situations, has led to several wins, while keeping the Aggies in nearly every game when the offense failed to collectively produce. For some, this is surprising given his poor 2024 season with the Owls after hitting .184. However, after Gavin Grahovac's season-ending injury, the lineup permanently changed, and the Corpus Christi native took full advantage of the opportunity head coach Michael Earley provided him. What's even more surprising is how the national college baseball media views Royo, as Baseball America placed him 4th on their NCAA "Freak List" featuring players with the most outstanding metrics in the country. "Texas A&M's starting second baseman in recent weeks, Royo continued his torrid stretch at the plate with one of the more productive weeks of any hitter in the country, batting .385 (5-for-13) with three home runs, a double, a triple, 10 RBIs and five runs scored while posting a 6.05 wRCE. A transfer from Rice, Royo has transformed into a true offensive spark plug for an Aggies team clawing its way back into the postseason picture. He's now hit safely in eight of nine games since April 18, raising his season batting average from the mid .240s to an even .300. With a bat that's shown both power and improved plate discipline, Royo is fast becoming one of the catalysts behind Texas A&M's late-season push." Royo's batting average sits at .300, and since facing the Texas Longhorns two weeks ago, he has produced 11 hits and continues to hit above his average against LSU. It's hard to disagree that Royo has been the team's primary catalyst outside of Caden Sorrell, and if the Aggies make it to the postseason, Royo's stellar play could lead Texas A&M to a deep run. Texas A&M Baseball Recap: Royo's heroics in Game 1, LSU's late surge in Game 2
Texas A&M Baseball Recap: Royo's heroics in Game 1, LSU's late surge in Game 2 Texas A&M (26-20, 9-14 SEC) split the doubleheader against No. 2 LSU (38-10, 15-8 SEC) on Saturday in front of a packed crowd at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park in Bryan-College Station. It was a true pitcher's duel across both games, with neither offense able to break away. The starting pitchers delivered stellar performances, keeping the score tight throughout. On the hitting side, Ben Royo has been on fire lately, and his recent performances might earn him a move up in the lineup. More at-bats for him could be a major advantage for coach Michael Earley and the Aggies. Game 1 Recap Texas A&M struck first in the bottom of the second inning when Ben Royo doubled to center field, bringing Kaeden Kent home after he reached on a walk. The game remained locked until the sixth inning when LSU's Jared Jones launched a solo home run to tie it up. In the seventh, LSU threatened with a runner on base and a double down the third baseline. Instead of holding at third, they sent the runner home, but Jamal George delivered a clutch throw that hit the cutoff man, who threw him out at the plate. The Aggies capitalized immediately. Royo led off the bottom of the seventh with a triple, putting himself in prime scoring position. Coach Earley made a strategic move, pinch-hitting Hayden Schott for Jamal George, and Schott delivered an RBI single to reclaim the lead at 2-1. Wyatt Henseler followed with a single, setting up Caden Sorrell, who hit a routine sac fly to center. The ball was dropped, allowing the runners to advance and Sawyer Farr to score, extending the lead to 3-1. On the mound, ace Ryan Prager lasted an impressive seven innings, striking out five while allowing LSU one earned run off the solo homer. Both teams remained scoreless for the rest of the game, securing the Aggies' 3-1 victory. GAME NOTES: Ben Royo led the team with 2 hits Texas A&M had 6 hits and struck out 16 times Ryan Prager was the winning pitcher - 7.0 innings / 5 strikeouts / 3 BB Kaiden Wilson picked up the save - 1.1 innings / 1 strikeout / 1 BB Game 2 Recap A similar script to the first, with dominant pitching keeping both offenses in check. The teams combined for just nine hits, and scoring opportunities were scarce. Texas A&M had its best chance in the bottom of the fifth, putting two runners on with one out. However, back-to-back strikeouts by Hayden Schott and Terrance Kiel II ended the threat, leaving both runners stranded. LSU capitalized in the sixth, using two doubles and small-ball tactics to push two runs across the plate. Ben Royo responded with a solo home run to cut the deficit to one, but that was the last offensive spark for the Aggies. Over the final three innings, A&M struggled at the plate, racking up strikeouts on the way to a 2-1 loss. LSU junior SP Anthony Eyanson was stellar on the mound, striking out a career-high 14 batters while lasting the entire nine innings for a complete game. GAME NOTES: Ben Royo, Caden Sorrell, and Bear Harrison logged the only three hits of the game Texas A&M had 3 hits, 1 home run, and struck out 14 times Justin Lamkin was the losing pitcher - 5.1 innings / 6 strikeouts / 1 BB Caden McCoy was lights out in relief - 3.2 innings / 6 strikeouts / 0 BB The rubber match will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT and can be viewed on SEC Network+ Contact/Follow us @AggiesWire on X and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Texas A&M news, notes and opinions. Texas A&M drops Game 1 in the Lone Star Showdown after falling 2-1 to No. 1 Texas
Texas A&M drops Game 1 in the Lone Star Showdown after falling 2-1 to No. 1 Texas The Texas A&M (24-17, 8-11 SEC) falls in game one of the Cotton Holding Lone Star Showdown, losing 2-1 to No. 1 Texas (35-5, 17-2 SEC) on the road in Austin. It was a game dominated by pitching, with both teams struggling to generate offense until the later innings. Aggie starter Ryan Prager delivered one of his strongest performances in recent memory, holding the opposition scoreless through 5.2 innings. However, the Aggies' offense faltered, reverting to old habits of chasing pitches outside the zone. The clutch hitting that had been a hallmark of their recent success was notably absent. The matchup may have played a role, as the Aggies have historically struggled against left-handed pitchers, a trend that continued tonight. Ben Royo was the lone bright spot, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Unfortunately, the rest of the lineup was plagued by weak groundouts and double plays. Even when they made solid contact, the balls fell short of clearing the fence, resulting in easy outs. Their sole run came in an unusual fashion, a towering infield single by Wyatt Henseler that was misplayed by the first baseman, allowing Royo to score. It was a tough night for the Aggies, but performances like Prager's and Royo's offer some positives to build on. The Aggies will get a chance to even up the series on Saturday evening when they the Longhorns in Game 2 at 3:00 p.m. CT.
