What time do Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry tee off at The Open today? Day two start times and latest leaderboard from Portrush
It is the final major tournament of the year, and this is a title that many golfers grow up dreaming of winning. McIlroy, the home favourite, has realised that dream once before - in 2014, at Royal Liverpool. Now, McIlroy is trying to double his major money this calendar year and follow up his memorable Green Jacket victory at the Masters back in April. The first day saw McIlroy move himself into title contention as he put on a show for the thousands of fans who cheered his every move. Whilst far from his best off the tee, McIlroy certainly made up for it on the greens, three birdies on his front nine leaving him just two shots off the lead heading into the second day. When is Rory McIlroy playing at The Open? McIlroy will tee off at 10.09am BST this morning, Friday July 18, 2025 in his Open second round. He will be joined by Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas. No more jail sentence for offences under TN Shops and Establishment Act
CHENNAI: A Bill was introduced to amend the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act 1947 to decriminalise offences under the Act by replacing imprisonment and fines with penalties. To determine the penalties under the Act, the state government may appoint an officer, not below the rank of Joint Commissioner of Labour, to be the adjudicating officer who may hold an inquiry and impose penalties, according to the Bill. Those aggrieved by an order passed by the adjudicating officer may approach the appellate authority (an officer not below the rank of additional commissioner), appointed by the government by notification. The appeal can be made within 60 days of the date of receipt of the order, as per the bill. Contravention to provisions of sections 3,7 to 11, 13 to 23, 25, 26, 29 to 41, 47, 47-A and 50-A of the Act will be liable for penalties extending to Rsa 5,000 and Rs 10,000 for a second or subsequent contravention. This is in line with the 'Reducing compliance burden' initiative that is part of the Business Reforms Action Plan 2024, to improve ease of doing business.

The Masters 2025: day two updates from Augusta
Yesterday was all about 44-year-old Justin Rose's wonderful 67, the first chapter of what could become the greatest romantic story ever written by anyone from north-east Hampshire (providing we leave Jane Austen out of this). Hartley Wintney's finest couldn't right the nearly-man wrongs of 2007, 2015 and 2017, could he? Perhaps. Fingers crossed. Let's see. Three days still to go. I may have lost my heart, but not my self-control. Yesterday was also about Rory McIlroy. Somebody shouted 'hallelujah!' when Scottie Scheffler hit his opening drive. Other well-worn biblical exclamations may well have been barked by fans of McIlroy, with some feeling, as he melted down on the homeward stretch, carding careless, clumsy, needless double bogeys at 15 and 17. Oh Rory. If we loved you less, we might be able to talk about it more. Anyway, here's how the top of the leaderboard looks after an entertaining and dramatic opening day at Augusta National. Nobody on it is out of contention, so best to approach the task in hand calmly.
