DEVO announces ‘Cosmic De-Evolution Tour' with The B-52s. Get tickets
Vivid Seats is the New York Post's official ticketing partner. We may receive revenue from this partnership for sharing this content and/or when you make a purchase. Featured pricing is subject to change. New wave is alive and well. DEVO and The B-52s announced they're teaming up for their co-headlining 'Cosmic De-Evolution Tour' with special guest Lene Lovich from September through November. While on the road, the offbeat rock pioneers — who both performed at 'SNL50' this past February — are scheduled to make a pair of New York and New Jersey stops. Up first, they'll swoop into Holmdel, NJ's PNC Bank Arts Center on Saturday, Oct. 4. Then, on Sunday, Oct. 5, the '80s-tastic twosome hit Long Island's Jones Beach Theater. 'COORDINATES CONFIRMED. These are the dates. These are the cities,' The B-52s shared via Instagram. 'Come weird. Come loud. Just don't miss it!' Upon further investigation, eagle-eyed diehards may notice the text 'one last orbit (maybe?)' on the bottom of the tour announcement poster. While we can't confirm what exactly is being implied there, DEVO has been in the middle of their '50 Years of De-Evolution…Continued' farewell tour for three years and The B-52s claimed they were calling it quits in November 2022 but have since headlined at festivals, performed in their hometown Athens, GA, conducted multiple Las Vegas residencies and put on a few one-off shows all over North America. Makes sense that two of the cheekiest bands of all time would goof on saying goodbye. 'I'm looking forward to 2073,' DEVO frontman Mark Mothersbaugh, who has scored everything from the 'Rugrats' theme song to Wes Anderson films, joked in an interview with The Guardian back in 2023. 'We'll play 100th anniversary Devo shows and then maybe retire.' 'In 2022, I swore I'd never get on a tour bus again' B-52s singer Fred Schneider said in a press release fo the fall tour. '…but we were careful to say to our fans that we would still perform in special situations that don't require all of the awful tour travel. Our Vegas residency is going great, and when we were offered the chance to do a small run of shows with Devo, we all said this is an extraordinary opportunity we couldn't say no to.' Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming DEVO shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the 'Cosmic De-Evolution Tour' is Friday, June 20. Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand. They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event. Sabrina Carpenter's fans stunned as they discover she has a very famous aunt
Sabrina Carpenter fabs were gobsmacked upon discovering the singer's celebrity relative. The 26-year-old 'Espresso' songstress, who has been dazzling the pop scene with her sharp lyrics and eye-catching performances, isn't the only star in her family. The singer's aunt is the legendary Nancy Cartwright, famed for voicing to Bart Simpson on 'The Simpsons'. The 67-year-old voice actress has brought the iconic mischief-maker Bart to life for over three decades and also voices characters like Maggie Simpson, Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders, and Nelson Muntz. Not to mention, Nancy is the voice behind Chuckie Finster from 'Rugrats' and its sequel series 'All Grown Up!'. Cartwright's also had roles in 'Alvin and the Chipmunks', 'Pound Puppies', 'Fantastic Max', 'Goof Troop', 'Crashbox', and 'Betsy's Kindergarten Adventure'. David Carpenter, Sabrina's dad, is Nancy's step-brother, a fact that some of Sabrina's followers have only recently stumbled upon, reports the Mirror. Social media was abuzz with the revelation, with one user exclaiming on X, previously known as Twitter: "Interesting side note for those who don't know. Sabrina Carpenter's Aunt is Nancy Cartwright... Aka Bart Simpson." Responses varied from "I did not know that!" to utter astonishment with comments like: "Just found out that the voice of Bart Simpson (Nancy Cartwright) is not only a Scientologist but also Sabrina Carpenter's aunt? ?" and "How the f*** am I just finding out Sabrina Carpenter is Nancy Cartwright's niece?" Sabrina herself has expressed her affection for her aunt in the past. During a chat with Capital FM, she revealed: "My whole life, that was just like the coolest thing in the world to me. I wasn't even allowed to watch the show until I was a little bit older!". "The woman is a woman of many talents, not just Bart. She always blows me away." She fondly remembered how Nancy would use the iconic voice during family dinners at restaurants. Sabrina shared how during meals, Nancy would occasionally break into Bart's voice, saying: "When we were in a restaurant, she didn't do it all the time, but there were a couple of times when we couldn't get a table and she'd be like, 'Hey, man, I'm Bart Simpson. What the hell's going on?'" when struggling to get a table. Nancy once spoke fondly of having Sabrina as her niece, saying: "Yeah, absolutely. Isn't that amazing when you find out that somebody that maybe.. "You've known me for a little while doing this little 10 year old boy for, like, 35 some years. And for some of you guys, way less than that. And you find out I'm related to this, like, superstar!".

Little girl in wheelchair spots herself in a store ad—and her reaction is everything
In a TikTok video by @ezbruhhspinz that recently captured the hearts of millions, a young girl in a wheelchair experiences a moment of pure joy upon seeing a store advertisement featuring a model who uses a wheelchair just like her. With wide eyes and an excited voice, she points and exclaims, 'That looks like me!' It's the kind of moment that stops you in your tracks—the kind of moment every parent hopes their child gets to feel. With over 23 million views, this viral video has resonated widely across TikTok. For moms raising kids who don't always see themselves reflected in the world, this video hits especially hard. It's a reminder that representation isn't just a nice idea—it's essential. Seeing someone who looks like you in a book, an ad, or on screen tells you that you belong. That you matter. And for children from underrepresented groups, these moments can be life-shaping. Related: The new 'Rugrats' reboot will feature a gay parent—because representation matters That little girl's emotional reaction? It's more than just heartwarming—it's backed by research. According to a study published in the Journal of Children and Media, children as young as three can recognize similarities between themselves and media characters, with these connections influencing their self-perception and social development. Dr. Nicole Martins of Indiana University, whose research focuses on media effects on children, explains: 'Children who don't see themselves represented in media may develop a sense that they are somehow unimportant or invisible in society. Conversely, when children see positive representations of people who look like them, it can bolster their self-esteem and expand their sense of possibility.' The advertising industry has made significant strides in disability representation over the past decade, though progress has been uneven. A 2022 analysis published in the Journal of Advertising Research examined over 1,000 mainstream advertisements across multiple platforms and found that while disability representation increased by 41% between 2011 and 2021, people with disabilities still appeared in only 2.7% of advertisements—despite making up approximately 26% of the U.S. population. Still, there have been moments worth celebrating: Target began regularly featuring children with Down syndrome in ads as early as 2012. In 2018, Gerber named Lucas Warren—the first baby with Down syndrome—as their Gerber Baby. Nike developed adaptive footwear after working closely with disability advocates. These aren't just good PR moments. They matter—to kids, to families, and to the future we're building. As a parent, you've probably seen it happen: Your child sees a character on screen or in a book and lights up. They point and say, 'That's me!' Or maybe they don't—but you wish they could. If your child ever has that spark of recognition, pause with them. Celebrate it. Talk about it. Say something like, 'I see it too—that's amazing!' These small moments of validation build confidence, identity, and belonging. And if they haven't seen themselves represented? Seek out stories, shows, and brands that make space for every kind of kid. Your effort tells your child: you deserve to be seen. Beyond the social impact, inclusive advertising makes business sense. The disability community represents a significant consumer market, with an estimated global purchasing power of $18 trillion, according to Return on Disability Group's 2020 report. Research published in the Journal of Consumer Psychology also shows that inclusive advertising positively influences buying decisions—not just for those being represented, but for consumers across the board who value diversity and social responsibility. The viral video of a young girl excitedly recognizing herself in an advertisement isn't just a feel-good story—it's a moment that reminds us what's at stake. Because when kids see themselves in the world around them, they begin to believe: 'There's a place for me here.' And isn't that what we all want for our children? To grow up in a world that sees them, celebrates them, and tells them their story matters. Related: Mom shares powerful message about inclusive toys: 'Representation matters!'
