Freeman Lee Ruhe was high on magic mushrooms when he crashed vehicle with child on his lap
Ruhe accepted he was going to be jailed by Judge Louis Bidois, but it was just a matter of how long. 'Mushrooms, a crash, and using stolen property' It was about 10.15pm on June 28 last year when Ruhe was sitting in his Mitsubishi with a 4-year-old child on his lap. He drove forward out of a driveway on Peachgrove Rd, a usually busy through road in Hamilton with a 50km/h limit. He then drove across the road into an adjacent driveway and crashed into the garage, causing it to collapse on top of his car. Ruhe was taken back to the police station, where he was drug tested. Neither Ruhe nor the child was injured. Two weeks earlier, a car was broken into outside a Huntington home, and a separate house, in the same suburb, was burgled. Early the next day, Ruhe was driving a stolen Holden when he stopped at the BP Horsham Downs and used a stolen bank card to get petrol, cigarettes, and tobacco supplies. He then drove to Z Five Cross Roads and bought $70 worth of cigarettes before being stopped by police on Palmerston St at 7.50am the same morning. Ruhe was found with a backpack containing items belonging to the victims in the car break-in and house burglary. 'Poor decision making' Judge Bidois said the child was vulnerable and defenceless but he accepted that Ruhe was remorseful about what happened. 'You drove a short distance, crashed, and had a 4-year-old on your lap, which potentially put him at serious harm and into a collapsing garage. 'Of course, if you had driven on the road, there could easily have been an accident.' Judge Bidois said the offending involved 'poor decision making' and a pre-sentence report recommended imprisonment. He accepted that Ruhe had grown up in poverty, witnessing violence and the use of drugs from a young age. Judge Bidois took a total start point of 13 months, before taking off four months as credit for his pleas and upbringing, before jailing Ruhe for nine months for unlawfully using a motor vehicle, receiving, obtains by deception, dangerous driving, driving under the influence of a drug and ill-treatment of a child. How bunker buster bombs could pulverize Iran's Fordow nuclear site: The science behind these deep-Earth destroyers
Israel has still not been able to destroy Iran's heavily protected Fordow nuclear facility, which is located two hours from Tehran, and now military analysts suggest that a specialised US weapon might be the only way to eliminate the site, as per a report. According to Fox News, many military analysts have pointed out that a two-ton precision bunker buster, which is developed by and in sole possession of the United States, can be the only way to destroy the Fordow site, which some claim may be capable of producing a nuclear warhead in just two to three days. What are Bunker Busters? Director of Foreign Policy for JINSA, Jonathan Ruhe, explained that bunker busters are designed to use gravity to "penetrate through any mixture of earth, rock, and concrete before the bomb itself then explodes" underground, quoted Fox News. The explosion can either destroy the target or "collapse the structure" around the target, as per the report by Fox News. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo According to Fox News, the bunker busters are available in different weight classes, Israel has 2,000- and 5,000-pound varieties, but only the United States possesses the 30,000-pound GBU-57 A/B Massive Ordinance Penetrator (MOP). ALSO READ: Peter Schiff sounds alarm: America faces economic doom as Fed powerless against hyperinflation threat Live Events Why Is Fordow So Hard to Destroy? According to Ruhe, the MOP, which was developed under former US president George W. Bush, was "designed specifically" for sites like Fordow, where nuclear facilities are hidden deep underground, as reported by Fox News. The depth of Fordow is a key factor in deciding the number of munitions required to target the facility, as per the report. While the Foundation for Defense of Democracies estimates the facility is 60 to 90 meters (196 to 295 feet) underground, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi told The Financial Times that it reaches 800 meters, Fox News reported. Ruhe speculated Grossi "may have been trying to message, 'hey, military action is not the solution here,'" as quoted in the report. How Would the US Use the MOP? Given Fordow's depth and the rocky terrain, the United States would likely use a "burrowing" technique, according to the report. Ruhe explained that this involves a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber would "drop several MOPs in succession, one after the other," quoted Fox News. The MOP reportedly has a penetration depth of 200 feet, as per Fox News. However, Fordow is not an easy target, as pilots have to take into account the facility's multiple narrow exit tunnels and achieve the right angle of impact to penetrate the ground, according to the report. FAQs Why hasn't Israel struck Fordow yet? Because it's buried so deep inside that even Israel's strongest bombs can't reach it effectively. What kind of bomb can hit Fordow? Only the US possesses the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator , a 30,000-pound bunker buster, as per the report.

Cadott woman charged with stealing from Boy Scouts, business organization
CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Cadott woman accused of stealing money from the Boy Scouts of America and two business organizations has now been charged. Nicole R. Ruhe, 43, 27498 100th Ave., was charged Tuesday in Chippewa County Court with three counts of theft in a business setting; all three counts are felonies. Judge Benjamin Lane released Ruhe on a signature bond and set a return court date for March 18. According to the criminal complaint, Ruhe has served for the Cadott Boys Basketball Association, the Cadott Community Association, and Boy Scout Troop 65 of Cadott. She is accused of accessing and taking funds from each organization. 'Nicole was interviewed multiple times and admitted to taking/using two of the three organizations' money and failing to return it,' the criminal complaint reads. 'Nicole only admitted to money that was able to be proven missing/unaccounted for with her responsibility as the treasurer.' The basketball organization found $5,159.00 unaccounted for. 'They also found bank ledgers that had been provided by Nicole that had been changed in an attempt to mislead the (basketball organization) on the actual amounts the CBBA had in their account during meetings,' the complaint reads. Investigators then learned Ruhe was active in the Boy Scouts. 'From reviewing the troop's bank account and known profitable activities, it was found $4,095.03 was unaccounted for and other fundraising profits had never been documented submitted into the troop's account,' the complaint reads. 'Nicole was questioned again on the missing money to which no specific reasoning or answers were given for much of the unaccounted-for money or other profits.' The CCA also suspected Ruhe, who was treasurer, was stealing money. 'The CCA suspected anywhere from $4,000-$9,000 was unaccounted for based on their knowledge and findings,' the complaint reads. 'From reviewing The CCA's account information and records there were similar behaviors observed in Nicole's record keeping and submission of funds to their bank that were also observed with the CBBO and BSAs. Nicole's records submitted to the CCA were found to differ $2,486.25 to $10,995.92 from 2022-2023 from that of the CCA's bank records showed.' The officers met with Ruhe and reviewed the ledgers she kept. 'Nicole indicated her using the money was (due to) falling on hard times and being out of work from her heart surgery for six months and only getting half her normal wage,' the complaint reads.
