His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met with alumni of the Dubai Business Associates (DBA) programme, a globally renowned graduate talent development initiative, as it marks its 10th anniversary. On the occasion, Sheikh Mohammed said that investing in human capital is essential to building a creative, innovation-driven economy, with the goal of empowering future entrepreneurs to transform ideas into impactful projects that address future challenges and benefit society. Sheikh Mohammed expressed his delight in meeting graduates of the programme hailing from the UAE and around the world, encouraging them to harness the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills they acquired to shape a future built on knowledge, driven by innovation, and dedicated to improving quality of life. Sheikh Mohammed also reaffirmed Dubai's position as a premier destination for creative minds and a global hub for shaping the future across vital sectors. Renowned as one of the world's most competitive business and education programmes, DBA receives over 5,500 applications annually from both international and UAE-based graduates. The programme is managed by Falcon Consultancy, a Dubai-based consultancy firm specialising in marketing, communications, events and innovation, which was established in 2009. The nine-month course blends academic learning with business placements, industry networking, coaching, and cultural immersion. Its tenth edition welcomed 36 participants from 22 countries, including nine Emiratis, for a nine-month training programme. Associates work on real-world consulting projects with leading Dubai-based organisations including Emirates, DIFC, dnata, DP World, and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). Since its inception in 2014, the programme has attracted 278 associates from 44 countries, including 56 UAE nationals. Furthermore, over 140 work placements have been completed, in partnership with over 30 of Dubai's leading companies. Added to that, 84 consulting projects worth $27 million have been delivered, providing myriad benefits for Dubai's wider business ecosystem. In addition, over 30% of applicants come from QS Top 10 global universities. DBA's academic and professional excellence is ensured by leading learning partners including PwC's Academy, Capadev, and Bon Education, who support the curriculum with world-class training and development to prepare Associates for their professional careers. Separately, His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has received a delegation from the Family Business Council – Gulf (FBCG), led by Sheikha Hind Suhail Bahwan, Chairman of FBCG. During the meeting, discussions focused on the contributions of family-owned businesses to broader economic and developmental efforts, as well as on opportunities to further enhance the business environment to support their growth and expansion into new markets and international destinations. His Highness the Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain will receive condolences on the passing of his mother starting today after Asr (afternoon) prayer at the Ruler's Court in Umm Al Qaiwain. Condolences will also be received on Tuesday and Wednesday, during the morning hours from 9:00 AM until Dhuhr (noon) prayer, and in the evening from after Asr prayer until Isha (night) prayer. Condolences for women on the passing of the late Sheikha Hassa bint Hamid bin Abdulrahman Al Shamsi will be received starting today after Asr prayer at the Majlis of His Highness the Ruler's Palace. UAE law prohibits unauthorized use of Dubai gov't logo

The UAE has enacted a law prohibiting the unauthorized use of Dubai's emblem and government logos, as reported by state news agency WAM. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, issued Law No. (1) of 2025 to regulate their usage and ensure proper compliance. Also read: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan approves new Dubai government logo The law states that Dubai's emblem and government logos can only be used in designated locations, documents, seals, and events of the entities authorized by the Chairman of Dubai's Ruler's Court. Only Dubai government departments, councils, authorities, public agencies, corporations, and affiliated entities are permitted to use these emblems. No individual or private entity may do so without authorization. The law also prohibits using the emblems for commercial purposes, such as advertising goods, tools, or materials, or using them in a way that distorts or undermines their value or status. Moreover, individuals and organizations can't use it in any event that contradicts the emirate's values and principles as well as with public order and morals. Any other use of the Dubai logo will require special permission from the Chairman of the Ruler's Court of Dubai and his authorized representative. Moreover, the individual or organization requesting the permission must comply with the controls prescribed in the said permission. Anyone who violates this law will face imprisonment for up to five years or face a fine ranging between AED100,000 and AED 500,000, or both, without prejudice to any stricter penalty prescribed by other applicable legislation. Moreover, they will have to stop using the emblem and have it removed within 30 days unless they secure a permit. The Dubai and its government's logo consists of the falcon, the Dhow, the palm tree, the ghaf leaves, and the country's flag, each symbolizing the country's culture, traditions, and values.
