Parliament Monsoon Session Day 5 Live Updates: In this Monsoon Session, Parlimaent has barely seen any discussion so far as proceedings in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were repeatedly adjourned following protests over Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. The Opposition leaders have been protesting at Parliament's Makar Dwar, demanding that the revision exercise be halted. The protest entered its fifth day today with Lok Sabha being adjourned within minutes.

Congress' Renuka Chowdhury Moves Rule 267 Notice In Rajya Sabha, Seeks Discussion On Voter List Revision
Congress Minister of Parliament Renuka Chowdhury on Friday morning moved a notice under Rule 267 in Rajya Sabha, demanding suspension of house business to discuss the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise being carried out by the Election Commission (EC) in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
Ms Chowdhury expressed concerns that the ongoing voter list revision drive in Bihar poses a "risk of disenfranchising millions" and raised questions about the "fairness" of the process due to "opaque guidelines."
According to the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Council of State (Rajya Sabha), Members of Parliament can give a notice under Rule 267 to suspend all listed business and discuss various burning issues.

Opposition Leaders Protest Outside Parliament Against Voter List Revision
Opposition MPs, including Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, protested and raised slogans against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) being carried out in Bihar. The opposition leaders stood together under the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Parliament complex, carrying posters with 'SIR' written on them.
"There should be transparency. All political parties should have access to the data provided by the Election Commission of India, so why has it not been provided?" said Priyanka Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi Demands Centre Responds To Allegations On Special Intensive Revision
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Friday called for the Election Commission of India (ECI) to respond to allegations made against it and provide political parties with the voter list, alleging that the poll panel is not being transparent.
"They should respond to the allegations. They should provide us with the voters' list, which we have been asking for. There should be transparency. It is a democracy. All political parties should have access to that information. Why is it not being provided?" Priyanka Gandhi told reporters at the Parliament premises.
