I saw Bryan Adams in Glasgow's Hydro- he wore a kilt

Canadian superstar Bryan Adams declared it was great to be back in "Bonnie Scotland" as he showcased his incredible career to fans at the Hydro tonight. The legendary singer flattered the Scottish fans by donning a kilt as he launched into new song Roll With The Punches. Familiar territory quickly returned with the anthem Run To You. He then said: 'Hello Glasgow, how are you? 'Got lots of songs to play for you tonight. 'Great to be back in Bonnie Scotland.' And the fans were delighted to welcome the star, especially when he performed an acoustic version of Cloud Number Nine. It showed off the 65-year-old's voice beautifully. Raspy and soulful, it's the perfect instrument for any rock anthem. Having a nostalgic moment, the singer then said: 'I was thinking about the first time I ever came to Glasgow. 'I'm pretty sure the first time was with Tina Turner.' Introducing their 1985 duet It's Only Love, he added: 'We lost her a couple of years ago which was a great loss to music. 'A great loss to me because she was my friend.' A touching moment was followed by the crowd taking the spotlight on the big screen for You Belong To Me which proved to be hilarious. READ OTHER BRYAN ADAMS REVIEWS: Review of Bryan Adams at Glasgow Hydro in 2022 Review: Bryan Adams at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow in 2018 A sense of intimacy was created in the venue throughout the show with clever stage lighting used to make the Hydro feel smaller. But the lack of big screen action meant the audience missed out seeing some of Adams' stage performance up close. It wasn't needed however for When You're Gone - his 1998 duet with Melanie C - which had the crowd singing in unison while Adams carried the tune acoustically. A good songwriter, a talented artist, and a voice like no other, there isn't much not to like about Bryan Adams. He's a solid performer who never fails to put on a spectacular live show. Taking requests from fans, he surprised with a cover of The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) - quite fitting for his stage attire. Playing for well over two hours - what else would you expect from a legend? - he of course, inevitably gave the moment all 90s music fans waited for…that song from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. (Everything I Do) I Do It For You spent 16 consecutive weeks at number one in the UK for a reason. The gorgeous ballad is an absolute anthem and still sounds as powerful today as it did in 1991. Finishing off in style with The Summer of 69, he then walked through the audience to the back of the arena to perform Straight from the Heart and All For Love from a smaller stage, it was a moment to remember. He then signed off: "You've been wonderful." No Bryan, you've been wonderful. @glasgowtimes We were out reviewing the legendary singer Bryan Adams tonight. Review: Bryan Adams wows fans at Aberdeen's P&J Live

It was the summer of '85. Not quite as catchy as a certain other year in Bryan Adams' repertoire, but unforgettable all the same. That was the year the Canadian rocker took to the stage at Live Aid in Philadelphia, guitar in hand and mullet in full flight, and played like his life depended on it. Forty years on, and while the hair's changed, the energy hasn't. Sunday night's stop at P&J Live marked his return to the Granite City on the Roll With The Punches tour, and found the 65-year-old in fine form. The hair might be greyer but it's still that same rasping voice, and that same refusal to phone it in. This was a masterclass in how to do arena rock properly. No dance routines, no lasers spelling out his name. Instead just a killer band, a wall of songs, and a frontman who still seems to be having an absolute blast (as did the crew operating two giant inflatables that floated across the arena). The crowd, a healthy cross-section of those who remember buying Reckless on cassette and their offspring dragged along for education, lapped it up. Before he was even halfway through the set, it was already a reminder of just how deep the Bryan Adams songbook runs. Run To You had the crowd air-guitaring from the first riff, while Heaven left them misty-eyed. And yes, Summer of 69 still gets the biggest cheer of the night. Long-time guitarist Keith Scott is Adams' secret weapon. He makes it all look easy – effortless solos and the sort of tasteful playing that guitar magazines quietly worship. Their chemistry onstage is part old-school rock 'n' roll, part double act, and completely genuine. By the time the phones were out (torches, not TikTok – thankfully) and Everything I Do (I Do It For You) rolled around, it was full singalong mode. And honestly? It's still a belter. The 'Groover From Vancouver' and his band, all in kilts, also launched into a version of 500 Miles, which won over everyone. There was new material too. Roll With The Punches and the poptastic Make Up Your Mind slotted in nicely and proved Adams isn't just relying on past glories. But it's those big, heartfelt anthems that really brought the crowd together, and the Aberdeen audience sang like their lives depended on it. In a nice moment at the end of the night, Adams left the main stage and walked to a small B-stage at the rear of the arena and performed the gorgeous Straight From The Heart and All For Love in a stripped-back acoustic way for those in the back. It was a simple gesture, but a classy one, and the intimacy of that short set within a set felt genuinely special. Bryan Adams doesn't do gimmicks. He does gigs. And last night, Aberdeen got a great one. He might not be feeding the world like he was in 1985, but Bryan Adams is still giving people something to believe in. And in 2025, that's no small thing. EXCLUSIVE The Bootyguard! Kim Kardashian is hot favourite to take Whitney's role in Bodyguard remake - in huge shock to army of Swifties convinced that Taylor would get it

From the moment it was announced that 1992 blockbuster The Bodyguard was being remade there has only been one name in the frame to play the lead actress: Taylor Swift. But producers have secretly been speaking to another – very different – global superstar for months… Kim Kardashian. In what might come as something of a shock to Swifties everywhere, The Mail on Sunday has learned the script has been 'specifically tailored' to Ms Kardashian, who is anxious to make her big-screen debut as a leading lady. An impeccable source said last night: 'Everyone immediately assumed Taylor would get the lead, the role played by Whitney Houston in the original film, because The Bodyguard remake is being directed by Sam Wrench who directed the 2023 film about Taylor's Eras Tour. But Warner Bros, the studio remaking the original, is very keen on Kim. 'There have already been multiple meetings and the script has been written with Kim in mind.' The original movie starred Whitney Houston as singer Rachel Marron who is stalked by a deranged fan and co-starred Kevin Costner as her devoted bodyguard Frank Farmer. The original film was nominated for two Oscars and the soundtrack became the top-selling movie soundtrack of all time with hits including I Will Always Love You, I Have Nothing and Run To You The movie was nominated for two Oscars and the soundtrack became the top-selling movie soundtrack of all time with hits including I Will Always Love You, I Have Nothing and Run To You. The film took over $400 million at the box office with the soundtrack selling more than 50 million copies worldwide, winning the Grammy for Album of the Year. The source said: 'Everyone is assuming the remake will be a musical but there has been talk of making a sequel for years and most of the talk has been about taking it in a different direction, using a global celebrity but not necessarily having it as a musical, more a straightforward drama. 'Let's face it, how can you top Whitney?' Previous discussions of a remake involved Kevin Costner and the late Princess Diana. Costner, who may make a cameo appearance in the new film, revealed it was Sarah, Duchess of York, who put him in touch with Diana in the 1990s. The script starring the princess was handed in to the studio one day before she died in 1997. Ms Kardashian has long been known to want to break into 'serious' acting. The reality star has appeared in films like Disaster Movie and Ocean's Eight as well as the TV show American Horror Story and her hit reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. A source said: 'Kim is one of the most recognisable women on the planet. She believes she has what it takes to be a major movie star. She'd be perfect for The Bodyguard and she knows it. Everyone is very excited.' Ms Swift, 35, is believed to be working on a new album for release next year and is also reportedly anxious to settle down and start a family with her American football player boyfriend Travis Kelce. Ms Kardashian, 44, is launching a string of stand-alone stores to sell her Skims underwear but her schedule is reportedly more flexible than Ms Swift's. The Warner Bros source said: 'Kim was always the person attached to this project, Taylor's name wasn't mentioned until the news came out that the remake is in the works and then it was mostly Swifties saying she'd be perfect for the part. Of course no one would ever count out Taylor if she was interested in the role. Let the battle of the divas commence!'
