Report: RB Nyheim Hines to make NFL return with Chargers

July 22 - Running back Nyheim Hines, who last played in the NFL in 2022 before being sidelined by a knee injury, reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday following a tryout with the team, ESPN reported. Hines was a member of the Buffalo Bills when he tore his left ACL in a jet-ski accident in July 2023. He spent 2024 with the Cleveland Browns but never saw the field as he continued to rehab his injury. The Browns released him in February. Hines, 28, was a fourth-round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2018 and spent four-plus years with the team before he was traded to the Bills at the 2022 deadline. In 81 career games (17 starts), he has logged 306 carries for 1,202 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, and he has caught 240 passes for 1,778 yards and eight scores. The Chargers drafted Omarion Hampton in the first round (22nd overall) of last April's draft, and they signed longtime Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris in the offseason. Harris suffered an eye injury in a Fourth of July fireworks accident but is expected to be ready for the season. --Field Level Media

Jessica Mauboy And Barkaa Bring Home NAIDOC Week On ‘Like A Version'

Jessica Mauboy has made her debut appearance on triple j's Like A Version segment, in the final days of NAIDOC Week. The Wakaman and Kuku Yalanji singer performed a cover of Yothu Yindi's 1993 single 'World Turning' from their third studio album Freedom, with a guest verse from Malyangapa and Barkindji rapper Barkaa. Watch the full performance from the duo below. In an interview conducted for the station's YouTube channel, Mauboy explained that she covered the song as it was one that she grew up with. 'It takes me back to being a child, growing up in the Northern Territory,' she said. 'This song is the theme song in the background. At that young age, I didn't quite know what the song meant – but I knew that it felt really great. 'Now that I'm older, I know that it means something much bigger. Yothu Yindi gave me the strength to go out into the world and be who I am – and be brave.' Barkaa, for her part, said that she wanted to 'pay homage' to NAIDOC. 'NAIDOC's theme [this year] is 'Our Next Generation',' she said. 'We're paying homage to our babies and our future elders. I really wanted to say that the world keeps turning; we have struggled, we have carried a lot on our backs, and we have kept that fire burning.' Jessica Mauboy feat. Barkaa – 'World Turning' In addition to performing the Yothu Yindi cover, Mauboy and her band performed a rendition of her debut solo single: 2008's 'Running Back'. Lifted from her debut album Been Waiting, the track featured a guest verse from American pop-rapper Flo Rida. It peaked at number three on the ARIA Singles Chart, and would go on to be certified double platinum by ARIA. Watch it below. Jessica Mauboy – 'Running Back' Mauboy's fifth studio album, Yours Forever, was released in February 2024. It debuted at number 10 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and sported five singles: 'Give You Love' (featuring Jason Derulo), 'Flashback', 'Never Giving Up', 'Forget You' and 'I'm Sorry'. She was nominated for three ARIA Awards that same year, including Best Pop Release for Yours Forever and Song Of The Year for 'Give You Love'. She won the ARIA for Best Original Soundtrack Or Musical Theatre Cast Album as part of the soundtrack for the limited series Faraway Downs, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Barkaa, meanwhile, was recently announced as a three-time NIMA nominee at this year's ceremony – at which, coincidentally, Mauboy is also set to perform. She is up for Album Of The Year for her second EP Big Tidda, as well as both Song Of The Year and Film Clip Of The Year for her track 'Ngmaka' – a collaboration with Leroy Johnson. Mauboy is also up for those two categories with 'Won't Stop', her track with Indigenous hip-hop supergroup 3% from last year's Kill The Dead. TITLE: PRELUDE ARTIST: OLLIE HUNT RELEASE DATE: 17 JULY 2025 LABEL: OLLIE HUNT AUSSIE ARTIST Released Singles: Running Back / Illusion Next Single: Nirvana – 3rd Release Prelude EP track listing: 1. Cloud9 2. Running Back 3. Illusion 4. Loop 5. Nirvana About Prelude EP: Prelude is the debut EP from Ollie Hunt — a raw, honest introduction to the artist through the lens of his teenage self. Written during his formative high school years, each of the five tracks captures a snapshot of youth, vulnerability and self-discovery. These songs are more than just early works; they are foundations, too important to be left unheard. Prelude marks the beginning of Ollie's journey — the first chapter in a story that's only just unfolding. About Nirvana: Nirvana, the closing track of Prelude, is a raw reflection on the ache of longing for someone who was never truly yours. It captures the moment of clarity when you realize the person you've been searching for — the one you've idealized in your mind — doesn't exist. They're a mirage, a dream, a false paradise. Just like nirvana, they're beautiful, elusive, and ultimately, unattainable. About Ollie Hunt: Ollie Hunt is a rising pop artist from Melbourne with his sights set far beyond the local scene. Poised to make waves on the global stage, Hunt is carving out a space among the next generation of male pop stars — bringing a unique blend of heartfelt vulnerability, genre-bending sound, and striking visual style to everything he creates. Drawing influence from the worlds of pop, R&B, hip-hop and house, Hunt's music reflects both his personal experiences and his deep reverence for contemporary music culture. A true student of the craft, he doesn't just follow trends — he studies them, deconstructs them, and rebuilds them in his own way. His sonic palette is fresh yet familiar, seamlessly combining smooth vocals, catchy hooks and polished production. Hunt's artistry is deeply rooted in personal expression. Struggling with anxiety, he uses music as his sanctuary — a space where he can speak freely, connect honestly and turn vulnerability into strength. For him, songwriting isn't just a skill; it's a lifeline. Each track is a snapshot of emotion, crafted with intention and delivered with sincerity. Beyond the music, Ollie brings a strong creative direction to his brand. Inspired by high fashion, visual storytelling, and pop culture aesthetics, his work transcends audio to create a complete artistic experience. Whether it's through music videos, styling, or branding, every detail reflects his vision and ambition. Ollie's debut single, 'Running Back,' released on May 16, made an immediate impact—amassing over 50,000 streams organically with minimal promotion, with his 2nd Single 'Illusion' released June 20 gaining over 25,000 streams so far. Both track's early success speaks to Ollie's raw star power and the growing community rallying behind his journey. As he builds momentum and prepares for future releases, Ollie Hunt stands ready to take his place on the world stage. With talent, vision, and a story worth telling, he's more than just one to watch—he's a new voice ready to redefine his version of pop.

2026 NFL Draft Early Watch List: Running Back

2026 NFL Draft Early Watch List: Running Back originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It's never too early to look ahead to the next NFL Draft, and with the dust now fully settled from this year's event in Green Bay, the gaze of prospect evaluation is now turning to the 2026 class. Advertisement The 2025 running back group was absolutely loaded, from an elite talent at the top, to deep second and third tiers that provided impressive depth and strong value throughout all seven rounds. There's no Ashton Jeanty in the 2026 class, but there's still a clear-cut leader at the top of the board, along with a handful of promising runners who could contend for first-round consideration. Here's an early look at some of the top running back prospects eligible for next year's draft: Jeremiyah Love, Notre Dame He may not be in Jeanty's stratosphere (few are), but Love has all the traits to be a special back at the next level. A three-down playmaker, Love helped lead the Fighting Irish all the way to the national title game, tallying over 1,300 total yards and 19 touchdowns while averaging nearly seven yards per carry. Love was slowed late in the season by a knee injury, but at full strength, he should prove in 2025 that he's the best running back in college football. If he's able to stay healthy and reach his lofty potential, Love could end up hearing his name called in the top 20 of next year's draft. Nicholas Singleton, Penn State A complete back with an NFL-ready frame, Singleton is the perfect balance of power and explosiveness in the backfield. Listed at 6-0, 227 pounds, he's just as likely to shake a defender in the open field as he is to run him over, and he's not afraid to churn out the tough yards between the tackles. He's half of a two-headed monster for the Nittany Lions, but don't think Singleton won't be capable of handling a full workload at the next level. He's got the size, well-rounded skill set, and versatility (67 receptions, 683 yards, seven touchdown catches over the past two seasons) to be a full-time, three-down back in the NFL. That could make him a first-round pick. Makhi Hughes, Oregon A transfer from Tulane, Hughes put up huge numbers for the Green Wave, racking up nearly 2,800 yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground over the past two seasons. Listed at 5-11, 210 pounds, he's got the ideal frame for a featured back at the NFL level, along with the three-down skill set to match (19 receptions for 176 yards and two touchdowns last season. Hughes shows impressive contact balance to run through traffic and stay upright, along with the vision and explosiveness to navigate his way into the open field and pull away from would-be tacklers. If he's able to produce at the same level against top competition this year, he should be one of the first backs off the board come next April. Patriots Assistant Coach Glad To 'Reconnect' With TreVeyon Henderson

The New England Patriots turned to former Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson at pick No. 38 ... More overall in the 2025 NFL draft. (Photo by Danielle Parhizkaran/The Boston Globe via Getty Images) Tony Dews had done his homework on the No. 38 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. For the veteran running backs coach, who was hired by the New England Patriots in January, that homework got underway several stops ago. Back when the College Football Playoff national champion now in his room was being recruited out of Hopewell High School in Virginia. It's now time to see what comes of it with TreVeyon Henderson. 'It's exciting,' Dews told reporters during Monday's session of organized team activities outside Gillette Stadium. 'You know, as assistant coaches, you evaluate the guys that they give you to evaluate and you have an opinion on them. At the end of the day, we're going to coach whoever they put in our room. But certainly, he was a guy that had done some really good things in college, and he fits some of the needs that we felt like we could address with our running back situation. So, I was very excited about it.' Henderson, 22, once stood as the top running back in his recruiting class. The five-star went on to commit to Ohio State. Soon after enrolling in January 2021, he earned a spot on the Freshman All-American team. His tenure would go on to bring second-team, first-team and honorable mention All-Big Ten selections. The career in Columbus spanned 47 appearances, 38 starts, 4,614 scrimmage yards and 48 touchdowns across 667 touches. Henderson averaged 6.37 yards per rushing attempt and turned 77 receptions into 853 yards. 'I tried to recruit him back in high school years ago when I was at West Virginia,' said Dews, who was the running backs coach for the Mountaineers in 2017 before entering the NFL ranks with head coach Mike Vrabel's former Tennessee Titans. 'He snubbed me. But it was good to be able to reconnect with him. Obviously, I'm very excited about him and what he may be able to do to help us going forward.' The Buckeyes team captain shared the backfield with Cleveland Browns second-round draft pick Quinshon Judkins as a senior last fall. A home run of an NFL Scouting Combine, led by a 40-yard dash of 4.43 seconds and a 10-yard split of 1.51 seconds, followed. Henderson, whose rookie contract in Foxborough remains unsigned, now finds himself on a depth chart that features extended starter Rhamondre Stevenson, veteran change of pace Antonio Gibson as well as Terrell Jennings, Trayveon Williams and Len Larison. 'First and foremost, he's a great human being, he's a great person, great kid,' Dews said. 'And then obviously the physical attributes. He's certainly fast. He brings a speed element to our team that obviously anytime you can get a guy that's as fast as he is, it is beneficial for the whole offensive unit and on special teams. And then, he obviously caught the ball well out of the backfield. He did a really good job, I thought, in pass protection. And in my time that I got to spend with him, he seemed to pick up concepts fairly quickly. 'So, with all those things, you feel like you're getting a good prospect and we'll have to see how it materializes from there.'
