Katy Perry struggles to keep ‘composure' performing breakup song after Orlando Bloom split

She'll cry about it later. Katy Perry attempted to keep her 'composure' while performing a breakup ballad during her Inglewood, Calif., concert Tuesday. The Grammy nominee, 40, usually lets her fans choose a song for her to sing each concert. However, this time, she questioned those who voted for her to sing 'Not Like the Movies' at the Kia Forum, according to People. 'You're gonna make me sing this song in this time in my life?' she asked, referencing her and ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom's recent split. Perry said, 'OK, we'll do it! Because you voted for it. … I'm gonna try not to cry. Don't worry. I won't cry.' The singer told her fans that the 2010 release dated back to her 'first divorce' from ex-husband Russell Brand. The former couple ended their marriage in 2011 after just one year. Perry told fans, who also voted for her to perform 'The One That Got Away,' that she would 'try and hold [her] composure while sing[ing] it a week before [her] period.' Earlier this month, news broke of the songwriter and Bloom, 48, calling it quits while she was on her still-running 'Lifetimes' tour. However, their relationship was long done as Page Six reported in June that the duo was 'over.' Perry and the 'Lord of the Rings' star have been together on and off since 2016 and share a 4-year-old daughter named Daisy. They called the little one their main 'focus' while confirming their breakup via their reps earlier this month. 'They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect,' the joint statement read. Perry and Bloom have since shown off their amicable co-parenting dynamic, going on vacation together in Italy last week. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star even included a cozy family photo in a recent Instagram dump, which also included his and ex-wife Miranda Kerr's 14-year-old son, Flynn. Solve the daily Crossword

Russell Brand joins RFK Jr at ‘presidential run' fundraising event

Russell Brand joined Robert F Kennedy Jr for a fundraising event last week, stirring speculation that the comedian may support the vaccine-sceptical health secretary for a rumoured presidential run in 2028. Mr Kennedy held a super Pac (political action committee) call on Wednesday with hundreds of supporters and influencers aimed at energising his Make America Healthy Again (Maha) base. Although a bid for the White House was not explicitly discussed, insiders told Axios that the call suggested Mr Kennedy is considering another run for the White House, after pulling out of the race in 2024 to support Donald Trump. Mr Kennedy was joined on the call by several speakers including Mr Brand, who is facing charges of rape and sexual assault which he denies. The comedian backed the health secretary's previous run for president and performed at one of his campaign events. Mr Brand has since grown close to Mr Kennedy, with the health secretary sharing a photo on social media in February of him holding a lizard alongside the comedian and a topless Dr Mehmet Oz, the head of the Centres for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Other prominent figures on the call were Tony Lyons, the Maha Pac leader, Robert Malone, a vaccine scientist, and Mr Kennedy's chief adviser Stefanie Spear, sources told Axios. The participation of Mr Lyons led some to believe that the Pac, a political action committee allowed to raise large amounts of money, is ready to act as a fundraising machine for Mr Kennedy should he choose to enter the race to replace Mr Trump. Mr Lyons, who is also a close ally of former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, in May became chairman of the newly launched Maha Institute, dedicated to influencing government policy on food ingredients, agricultural inputs and overall health. During the call, financial pledges were allegedly taken, but with no information given on how much money was raised and whether it will be saved up for a 2028 campaign. Ms Spear, who worked as press secretary on Mr Kennedy's presidential campaign, is said to have highlighted changes her boss has made to the department of health and human services (HHS) so far, and urged supporters to remain patient for further policy announcements. Mr Kennedy pleased Maha supporters by persuading several food companies to remove artificial dyes from their products but has drawn criticism for his decision to form a new vaccine review board that experts fear will promote vaccine-scepticism. JD Vance, the vice-president, and Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, are widely viewed as the frontrunners in the race to succeed Mr Trump. The president has repeatedly stoked speculation about running for an unconstitutional third term, with some suggesting that his son, Donald Trump Jr, could run in his place.

RFK Jr. sparks 2028 speculation with major move that could put him on the outs with Trump

. appears to be making the first steps toward a 2028 presidential run. Axios reported Wednesday that Kennedy's super PAC hosted an online event last week, with two sources telling the publication that while another presidential bid wasn't openly discussed it felt like the current Health and Human Services secretary was testing the waters. The call attracted hundreds of supporters and influencers that are part of Kennedy's Make America Healthy Again movement. Among them - comedian Russell Brand - who has attached himself to the MAHA movement after becoming sober. Brand pleaded not guilty to rape charges in May in the United Kingdom. Leading the call were MAHA PAC leader Tony Lyons, vaccine skeptic Robert Malone and Stefanie Spear, who ran communications for Kennedy's 2024 campaign, Axios said. The call was organized by Lyons' non-profit, MAHA Action, with sources telling the publication that Lyons' involvement signaled the PAC would again support Kennedy, should he give a White House run another go. Lyons did not immediately respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment. Kennedy stepping into campaign mode could ruffle feathers with President Donald Trump, who - with his large campaign coffers - is positioning himself as kingmaker for any future Republican hopefuls. When Kennedy announced his presidential ambitions in April 2023, he ran as a Democrat, the party of his famous political family. In October 2023, when it was clear he wouldn't win a Democratic primary against President Joe Biden, he launched an independent presidential run instead. After Trump was nearly assassinated on July 13, 2024, Kennedy and the then Republican nominee started having conversations about joining forces. Trump said he would embrace Kennedy's MAHA movement, Kennedy in turn would endorse him. That happened the day after the Democratic National Convention wrapped up in August 2024, taking some wind out of Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris' sails. The Trump-Kennedy coalition helped Trump win all seven swing states on Election Day. Trump named Kennedy as his HHS head nine days later. Since taking over HHS, Kennedy has shrunk the size of the federal agency, canceled billions in grants to universities and public health departments and changed COVID vaccine regulations. Daily Mail's July poll conducted by J.L. Partners found that Kennedy's approval rating ran in the middle of the pack compared to other prominent political figures. Trump had higher favorables than Kennedy - with 26 percent holding a very favorable view of the president and 18 percent holding a somewhat favorable view. But Trump's cumulative negative rating stood at 51 percent. With Kennedy, 16 percent held a very favorable view of the HHS secretary while another 25 percent viewed him somewhat favorably. Forty-six percent viewed Kennedy unfavorably, in a poll with a plus or minus 3.1 percent margin of error.
