Peacock Bros. & Honeywell celebrate twelve years of innovation

Peacock Bros. is marking twelve years of partnership with Honeywell, reflecting a milestone in the supply chain technology sector across Australia and New Zealand. Peacock Bros. has utilised Honeywell's automation and mobility solutions to deliver outcomes to customers in industries including retail, transport and logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, healthcare, and field service. Ryan McGrath, Managing Director at Peacock Group, commented on the significance of the company's collaboration with Honeywell. "Peacock Bros. strategic partnership with Honeywell has delivered true innovation into the Australian market and transformed business processes and outcomes for twelve years," said Ryan McGrath, Managing Director at Peacock Group. "As a Honeywell certified Platinum Plus Performance Partner and authorised reseller and service provider in Australia, we are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and look forward to continued success." The partnership has resulted in the implementation of advanced automation solutions designed to enhance efficiency and visibility for businesses. Among these projects is a comprehensive technology upgrade for Direct Freight, an Australian road freight transportation company. Direct Freight deployment To assist Direct Freight in improving visibility across its supply chain and meeting customer expectations, Peacock Bros. and Honeywell facilitated a large-scale deployment of mobile devices and software. Direct Freight worked with Peacock Bros. to implement 1,400 Honeywell CT60 XP Handheld-Computers, providing real-time connectivity and expedited data capture to support operational uptime and productivity. The devices are integral for scanning goods at various touchpoints, from loading and unloading delivery trucks to proof of delivery. This process is designed to ensure accurate tracking of parcels, thereby improving reliability for Direct Freight's customers. Peacock Bros. and Honeywell's system has also influenced driver operations at Direct Freight. The Honeywell CT60 XP offers enhanced GPS tracking and communication, allowing for real-time route optimisation and more efficient delivery schedules. Driver communications now occur via VoIP on the mobile devices, removing the requirement for traditional two-way radio installations and associated maintenance, representing cost savings for Direct Freight. Stephen Catania, Commercial Director for Direct Freight, commented on the operational improvements achieved: "Through our advanced unified mobility solution, we have full visibility of driver activity and can reroute them in real-time to avoid accidents or delays. On the road communications and management is key to ensuring driver safety, as well as the fast and accurate delivery of goods to customers. All of which are primary goals for our business," said Stephen Catania, Commercial Director for Direct Freight. Continued collaboration Peacock Bros. has stated its intention to build on the partnership, focusing on deploying and managing a range of mobile computing, barcode scanning, and both fixed and mobile printing solutions. Luke Terrell, General Manager, ANZ at Honeywell, expressed appreciation for the collaboration, stating: "Honeywell is proud to mark twelve years of partnership with Peacock Bros., a collaboration that has consistently delivered outstanding results for businesses across Australia and New Zealand," said Luke Terrell, General Manager, ANZ, Honeywell. "By integrating our advanced technology with Peacock Bros.' expertise, we've helped organisations improve efficiency, visibility, and operational performance. We look forward to continuing this successful relationship and driving innovation together for years to come." McGrath also reflected on the milestone, highlighting the contributions of the teams involved: "We are grateful for Honeywell's continued support and for the dedication of our teams who have driven this partnership forward," McGrath added. "This is just the beginning. Here's to another decade of innovation and success," he concluded. Follow us on: Share on:

Map reveals the UK loan hotspots where people borrow the most money

Searches for the term 'I need a loan' surged by 35% in the past three months, reflecting a growing reliance on borrowing to navigate financial challenges. This is evidenced by the latest Pepper Money lending study, which found that more than half of Brits saw a drop in disposable income last year; and higher bills are hitting the nation's pockets hardest. As a result, a third of UK households have borrowed to pay for food or utilities, while 16% say their debt has increased 'a lot' over the previous 12 months. According to the lender's data, the average loan taken out in 2024 sat at £41,088, with the most common reason given being debt consolidation (accounting for around half of the total) followed by home improvement (making up 9.7%). Loans for property purchases or investment and those to fund travel or weddings are also becoming more common, as is medical-related borrowing to pay for private care. However, it seems that residents in some cities were far more inclined to borrow than others. Brummies were responsible for almost one in eight loans across the UK last year, with the average amount coming to £40,393. Here, weddings were the most common reason for borrowing – a stark contrast to Sheffield (which accounted for the second-highest proportion with 10.5%) where it was medical bills. Next up, Cardiff came in third with 9.5% of the country's loans, and the top five was rounded off by Newcastle and Nottingham, which racked up 8.5% and 8.2% respectively. More Trending Perhaps surprisingly, London didn't make the top 10. But although the capital made up just 3.9% of 2024 loans, the ones that were taken out were the largest among the cities studied, averaging at a whopping £61,681. Commenting on the findings, Ryan McGrath, sales director at Pepper Money, says: 'We're seeing more households in cities like Birmingham, Sheffield, and Cardiff using loans not just to consolidate debt, but also to invest in their homes and even fund major life events. 'Rising costs mean people are looking for smarter ways to borrow, and secured loans are becoming a more popular option for homeowners who want to access larger sums at lower rates.
