Ryan Phillippe is sued by woman who claims her hair was set on FIRE at Beverly Hills restaurant

Ryan Phillippe is reportedly being sued by a woman who claims she was nearly set on fire at a restaurant in which he is invested. The 50-year-old actor — who recently revealed why his lost out on his 'dream role' in the Star Wars prequels — is being sued by Jody Sanders, according to TMZ, who alleges that her hair was set on fire at The Hideaway in Beverly Hills. She is also reportedly suing Jeffrey Best, the celebrity event planner and owner of the restaurant, as well as the restaurant itself. However, a source tells that Phillippe is not an owner of The Hideaway, and is instead only a minority investor in the restaurant who doesn't have any involvement in its day-to-day decisions. has contacted representatives for Phillippe and The Hideaway for comment. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Sanders alleges in her lawsuit that she was an attendee at a Hideaway event back in April 2024 when her scary encounter with the flames occurred. According to TMZ, she says she was seated at the restaurant's bar when 'unattended wax candle burning on the bar's surface' alleged burned her hair. It's unclear if she's alleging that her hair was merely singed, or if it burst into flames. Sanders is reportedly seeking unspecified damages. But source alleges that her claims were settled by The Hideaway's insurance company sometime last year, raising questions about the purpose of the lawsuit. Jeffrey Best — the mastermind behind Britney Spears' wedding to Sam Asghari and Madonna and Guy Oseary's Oscar parties — became a first-time restaurant owner when he opened The Hideaway with co-owners Sylvain Bitton and JT Torregiani. Phillippe appears to have been involved in promoting The Hideaway after it opened in 2022, but he appears to only be one of a group of investors, which also includes Diana Ross' son Evan Ross. Ryan spoke about how the restaurant is inspired by the 'vibe' of ''70s to '80s Baja, Mexico' in an interview with Cigar & Spirits Magazine. The restaurant — which is inspired by the food and atmosphere of Baja, California — is located below street level on Beverly Hills' iconic Rodeo Drive, which is famous for its upscale shops. Phillippe said the interior of The Hideaway was 'intentionally aged' and 'made to look like it's been here for some time,' which he compared to 'what a set designer would do in a movie.' 'This is a brand-new restaurant but look at the cracks around the coping,' the Cruel Intentions star noted. 'All of that is done with intention so it feels like a place that's been around for a long time.' The restaurant's menu suggests it's ideal for carnivores, with plenty of with plenty of fish, chicken and pork options, though there are also mushroom enchiladas on the dinner menu for vegans and vegetarians. But it's primarily a Mexican steakhouse with cuts of beef that go for as much as $125 (for an A5 Wagyu filet) and $145 (for an enormous bone-in tomahawk steak). In addition to his acting career, Phillippe is known for being the ex-husband of Reese Witherspoon, whom he was married to from 1999 to 2007. They share two children: 25-year-old daughter Ava and 21-year-old son Deacon, who bares a striking resemblance to his father.

Amazon Prime Video fans have one demand after bingeing 'adrenaline-filled' show

Amazon Prime Video viewers have been left demanding a season two renewal for a new coming-of-age drama that is climbing up the platform's top 10 ranking of TV. Motorheads is a ten-episode teen petrolhead drama that mixes The Fast and the Furious with The Summer I Turned Pretty, to land a respectful 75 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Set in the hard knocked Pennsylvania rustbelt, the drama follows a set of car builders and racers in high-octane scenes, scored to a presumably pricey soundtrack (Olivia Rodrigo, flipper extraordinaire Benson Boone). Motorheads stars teen drama icon Ryan Phillippe, of Cruel Intentions infamy, playing a former Nascar mechanic turned struggling auto body shop owner. He's joined by Nathalie Kelley, Never Have I Ever's Michael Cimino and Melissa Collazo to make an ensemble cast of grease monkeys. 'Motorheads is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your first car,' reads the official show synopsis from Prime Video. 'Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that's now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is an adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of street racing, while navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school.' Given that all ten episodes are already available to binge through on the streaming platform, many fans have already finished the whole thing and taken to X (formerly Twitter) to demand a follow-up season. One viewer even went so far as to threaten cancelling her Prime subscription entirely if the show isn't renewed for season two. Ryan Phillippe and crew have hit GOLD. The show is awesome. 'Also, if there isn't a season 2 I'm cancelling my prime!' More Trending Many said the finale cliffhanger had left them desperate for more of the drama. @JMorgynWhite wrote: 'My god the cliffhanger on Motorheads was unacceptable without a Season 2 on the track – there is a Season 2 coming, right Prime Video?? Repeat after me 100% binge worthy.' @SaishaStar tweeted: 'Please let there be a Season 2 that was a crazy cliffhanger and I need some answers on the backstory of Christian Maddox. So many Questions!' @Riss286 demanded: 'RENEW Motorheads FOR SEASON 2 PLEASE!!!' View More » Motorheads is available to stream on Prime Video. Got a story? Brant-filmed Amazon Prime show cracks top 10 in first week

People around the globe are getting a glimpse of Paris, Ont. this week … however they will know it as Ironwood, Penn., the fictional setting of 'Motorheads .' Crews for the Amazon Prime show were in the small town around 50 kilometres west of Hamilton between April and July last year, filming the teen racing drama. Featuring Ryan Phillippe, Nathalie Kelley, Melissa Collazo and Michael Cimino, the 10-episode first season premiered on May 20 and was listed in the streaming service's top 10 as of Friday. Locals might recognize Penman's Dam Park, Bean Park and Grand River Street North — though some of the businesses got a slight makeover for the show. It was one of four film projects the county welcomed over 21 days last year, the economic impact of which (across Brantford and Brant County) is estimated to be around $750,000, according to the county's 2024 year end economic development and tourism report. If the show is renewed for a second season, it's unclear how the county's new film policy might impact future filming. In a county survey, just over a quarter of the 34 respondents said they saw positive impacts from filming, while the other 73 per cent reported negative impacts, a report said. Even still, the majority of respondents were supportive of future filming in the county, but many hoped to see tighter restrictions on filming times and parking use. The ensuing policy has strict restrictions around road closures, blackout dates and parking caps, which will effectively 'strangle' any 'appetite for filming' in downtown Paris, Alison Newton, chief administrative officer for the county, told councillors in September. Paris is the most-requested filming location in the county. It has previously hosted crews from 'Paris Paris' (a TV show about a Paris, Ont., resident who finds a tunnel to Paris, France), and the Netflix holiday movie 'Let It Snow.'

Fans urged to watch "awesome" drama as it jumps up UK streaming chart: 'Worth putting your phone down for'

Motorheads, the new coming-of-age drama from the writer behind One Tree Hill, is doing well on Prime Video following its release. The show stars I Know What You Did Last Summer and Cruel Intentions actor Ryan Phillippe, Mia Healey (The Wilds), Melissa Collazo (One of Us Is Lying), Michael Cimino (Love, Victor) and Nathalie Kelley (Dynasty). Following a group of outsiders who bond over a love of cars and street racing, the show is sitting in 4th place on Prime Video UK's top 10 most-watched shows, at the time of writing. The show has also received a positive response from fans, with all bar one of the user reviews on IMDB being very positive. "I wholeheartedly recommend if you want something fun, exciting, and decently wholesome to watch!" wrote one viewer, while another said: "If you haven't seen the series yet you should probably organise a series marathon." "This turned out to be a great show! There really isn't anything on TV quite like it," said a third fan, while another review called the show "a must watch". Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a similar user score of 97%. However, critics seem a little less enamoured with Motorheads, as it has a 71% positive rating from seven reviews at the time of writing. A common theme amongst the critic reviews, both positive and negative, is that the show isn't all that deep. However, the reviewers that enjoyed the show believe that to be a strength. "Life-changing stuff, this isn't," reads The Hollywood Reporter's review. "It's just sturdy, reliable entertainment – well worth putting down your phone for and taking for a proper spin."
