Take place in a guided workout to Broadway music every Monday at the Charles River Esplanade. Esplanade Association Advertisement KNIT AND CHAT Trident Booksellers & Cafe will host its monthly Hooks and Books event on Tuesday, where book lovers can unite to knit, weave, and crochet with company. Attendees are welcome to bring crafts-in-progress or beginner-friendly crochet kits will be provided for novices looking to pick up a new hobby. Aug. 5, 7-9 p.m. Trident Booksellers & Cafe, 338 Newbury St. LEGACY CREW Living Root, a local dragon boat club that competes in races nationally, invites the public to join summer training sessions on the Malden River. Alongside team members, attendees can learn to paddle for low-impact and team-based exercise. Personal flotation devices will be provided, but all rowers are recommended to bring water shoes and a change of (dry) clothing for post-practice.
