Watch: Comedy Of Errors In TNPL! Ashwin's Throw Leads To 3 Overthrow Runs

Last Updated: Dindigul Dragons defeated Madurai Panthers in TNPL 2025 despite a comedy of errors in the field. The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025 clash between Dindigul Dragons (DD) and Madurai Panthers (MP) at the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem on Saturday witnessed a comedy of errors with multiple overthrows. The DD fielders made multiple mistakes, missing multiple chances to run the batters out. In the final over, with Gurjapneet Singh and S. Rajalingam at the crease, Ravichandran Ashwin easily fielded a shot towards extra cover. His throw at the bowler's end missed the stumps with the bowler not backing up. The batters completed a second run as the ensuing overthrow was retrieved and thrown towards wicketkeeper Baba Indrajith, who also failed to gather. The batters got a third run from another errant throw back to the bowler. WATCH: Earlier, Dindigul Dragons' skipper R Ashwin won the toss and chose to field. The Madurai Panthers posted 150/8, with Atheeq Ur Rahman leading their innings with 50 off 41 balls. Opener Balachander Anirudh contributed a useful 31 off 24 deliveries. For the Dragons, DT Chandrasekar and G Periyaswamy each took two wickets in their respective four-over spells. Following this win, the Dindigul Dragons occupy third place in the TNPL 2025 points table with four points, while the Madurai Panthers sit in sixth with one victory. The Dindigul Dragons will face the Chepauk Super Gillies on 16 June, while the Siechem Madurai Panthers will play the Nellai Royal Kings on 18 June. First Published: June 14, 2025, 23:53 IST

Varanasi Commissioner, DM laud cultural heritage work at Gyan Pravah

Varanasi: Divisional Commissioner S. Rajalingam and DM Satyendra Kumar visited the Cultural Study and Research Centre, Gyan Pravah at Samne Ghat, on Saturday. The visit focused on reviewing the institution's contributions to preserving India's cultural and artistic heritage. While touring the campus, the officials visited the Yagyashala, where they were briefed by executive administrator Lalit Kumar and assistant director Neeraj Kumar Pandey about its cultural and ritualistic significance. Commissioner Rajalingam directed that the institution communicate its requirements to the administration so that appropriate support could be extended. The delegation also visited the craft workshop, where coordinator Pramod Giri demonstrated the traditional techniques involved in making Ashtadhatu statues.
