Online Critic Controversy Sparks Ethical Debate
In June 2025, a dispute emerged involving the film when co-producer Vipin Das filed a formal police complaint against Bijith, a YouTuber and the creator of the Cinephile review channel. The complaint, submitted at the Palarivattom police station, accused Bijith of soliciting money in return for a favorable review. Upon refusal—citing that the film operated on a tight budget without funds for paid promotions—Bijith allegedly published a critical review in retaliation.
Vipin provided call records to law enforcement as supporting documentation. He also addressed the media, confirming that complaints were filed with FEFKA and the Producers' Association, both of which backed the filmmakers. The incident reignited conversations online about digital reviewing ethics and the pressures low-budget films endure in today's media landscape.
