New Delhi: China, which was exposed in the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) meeting, is hatching another diplomatic conspiracy against India. After the meeting of China, Pakistan and Bangladesh, these three countries are preparing to form an alliance on the lines of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
What is the proposal?
This organization based on South Asia-China cooperation is considered to be the Chinese answer to SAARC. According to a report, a meeting of this proposed alliance is proposed in Islamabad in August. Sri Lanka, Maldives and Afghanistan could join it too. China has been making efforts for some time through its ambassadors in these three countries. It is being told that Afghanistan and Maldives have given in-principle approval to join this organization.

When was the last meeting of SAARC countries held?
The last full meeting of SAARC countries was held in Kathmandu in 2014. The SAARC organization has been inactive since 2016. A meeting of foreign ministers was proposed in Islamabad in 2020, but India boycotted it after the Uri terrorist attack. Then Bhutan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka also boycotted this meeting in protest against terrorism.
Let us tell you that China has the highest investment in South Asia in Pakistan, about $ 60 billion. Therefore, Pakistan remains the mediator of China's SAARC.

Is China pulling India's neighbours to its side?
According to Avinash Mohanani, former Joint Director of Intelligence Bureau and Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, China is working on the superpower model. For years, America has been increasing the number of countries in its block in the world. China's is now eyeing India's neighbourhood. It is changing SAARC and forming a new alliance with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Pakistan has also brought Bangladesh into China's fold while Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka are also under China's shadow. It is an alarming situation for India.
