Draw was fair result
Published on: Saturday, August 16, 2025 Published on: Sat, Aug 16, 2025 By: James Wong Text Size: I must admit that I know nothing about this team. I wish Sabah FC all the best in this away game and I am confident that we should be able to register our first victory of the new season. SABAH FC's first game in the new Super League season ended with a 1-1 draw at the Kuala Lumpur City FC at the KLFA Stadium on Wednesday. We were actually heading for a defeat until lanky Gabriel Peres became the saviour for the team when he scored in the dying seconds with a well-timed header for the equaliser. I thought Sabah FC had a very good game in the first half and had many chances to score but no one was clinical enough to put the ball into the back of the net. It was the same scenario like last season although Darren Lok, Fergus Tierney and Miguel Cifuentes combined quite well in attacks. Subscribe or LOG IN to access this article. Sabah FC holds KL City to 1-1 draw in Super League clash
SABAH FC held Kuala Lumpur City FC to a 1-1 draw in their 2025/2026 Super League match at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras. The visitors played the second half with 10 men after midfielder Dean Pelekanos was sent off just before halftime for a dangerous tackle. KL City capitalised on their numerical advantage when Dane Ingham scored an own goal in the 65th minute while attempting to clear a cross. Sabah fought back late as substitute Gabriel Peres headed in Stuart Wilkin's free-kick during stoppage time to snatch a point. KL City remain third in the standings with four points, level with Terengganu, while JDT leads the league with six points. **MELAKA:** Melaka FC secured their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against Penang FC at the Hang Jebat Stadium. Brazilian striker Juan Douglas Teles Da Silva equalised in the 69th minute after Dylan Christopher Charles Wenzek Halls had given Penang the lead. Melaka almost levelled earlier when Muhammad Nizarrudin Jazi's powerful strike hit the post in the 36th minute. **TERENGGANU:** Terengganu FC and PDRM FC shared the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium. Doumbia Henri scored twice for PDRM, but Terengganu fought back with goals from Muhammad Azam Azmi Murad and Yan Bella's late penalty. - Bernama

Beyond club football, Jean-Paul has contributed to Australian national teams across various age groups. His most recent role was as assistant coach to Brad Maloney for Australia's Under-17 national team. New signings failed to impress
Published on: Saturday, July 19, 2025 Published on: Sat, Jul 19, 2025 By: James Wong Text Size: The question on everyone's mind, especially the supporters, is how well Sabah FC will fare in the coming season. SABAH FC were thrashed 2-8 by Buriram United of Thailand in the Asian Charity Shield played in Thailand on July 13. Though it was only an international friendly, the scoreline was still deeply embarrassing. Sabah FC with some new faces in the line-up looked so amateurish in that encounter against a team who are definitely a class above us. Advertisement The Thai champions showed that they are one of the top sides in Asia with a very good display and made Sabah FC look like a school team. Among the reasons given by assistant coach Alto Linus for the heavy defeat was because Sabah FC were not match ready and lacked physical fitness as the players had just started training barely a month ago after a long break. Hoping for no mass exodus of players
Published on: Wednesday, April 23, 2025 Published on: Wed, Apr 23, 2025 By: James Wong Text Size: Foreign import Cifu (Miguel Ángel Garrido Cifuentes) made a rare start in midfield but the coordination with Stuart Wilkin was just not there. SABAH FC completed the Super League fixtures on Sunday with a 0-1 defeat to Perak FC here at Likas Stadium. I was not at all surprised with the starting line-up by head coach Martin Stano to field in new faces with some familiar ones for the match after all the third place was already secured following the 1-1 draw with Kedah Darul Naim FC last week and the 0-2 defeat of Kuching City FC by Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) FC last Wednesday. It was just a formality to play the last game of the season as the final result bore no consequence on the table standing. Rawilson Batuil as captain was tasked to manage the defence and I thought he had a good game despite the own goal. However, Park Taesu was a pale shadow of himself since he returned from the long injury. Subscribe or LOG IN to access this article.
