Saudi Arabia Launches ‘Cultural Innovation Challenge' for Policies Design
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture has launched the 'Cultural Innovation Challenge (POLICYTHON),' to engage people in a policy design hackathon, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The hackathon will bring together various national talents and international experts from all over the world. Under the auspicious of Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the 'Cultural Innovation Challenge,' significantly focuses on elevating the design skills of cultural policies. Therefore, it will make a real difference in fostering the growth of Saudi cultural sector and achieving comprehensive and sustainable development. With a special focus on introducing solutions and policies, the hackathon targets innovators, entrepreneurs, academic researchers, public policy professionals, university students, the cultural public, government employees, and other relevant groups. Interestingly, the ministry has dedicated a total prize pool surpassing SAR500,000 for the winners. Live car wrapping, real-time product demos and the new Label It competition promise an engaging visitor experience across three days Explore over 2,500 products and solutions ranging from wide-format printers and LED displays to packaging automation, recycling equipment and labelling solutions, all under one roof Saudi Signage & Labelling Expo opens today in Riyadh for its second edition, co-located with the inaugural Saudi Paper & Packing Expo. Running until 22 May 2025 at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (RICEC), the events arrive at a time of continued industry growth driven by infrastructure investments, a growing retail sector and a demand for modern, sustainable product solutions. The event will host over 14,000 visitors from retail, real estate, tourism, entertainment and hospitality sectors, fuelling demand for signage, labelling, paper and packaging solutions in Saudi Arabia. Diversity in product sectors Bringing over 150 top-tier brands from more than 15 countries, including Belgium, China, France and Türkiye, the exhibition presents over 2,500 products. Visitors will explore a diverse range of products and solutions across signage, printing, labelling, packaging automation, paper recycling and waste equipment as well as paper machinery and equipment, addressing the evolving market demands. Live car wrapping and printing in action Among the major features at this year's edition are the live car wrapping and real-time printing demonstrations, offering attendees a chance to witness industry skills and product capabilities first-hand. Some of the key brands showcasing live demos of their solutions, latest machinery, materials and wrapping techniques include CMYK, Digital Star Machinery & Equipments, Euro Media, WellCare Trading Company, City Sign Trading Services and Al Rish Al Khaleeji. Product demos enhance hands-on learning Visitor will witness first-hand live product demonstrations from participating companies, including Gulf Sparrows Trading Company – BLUERHINE, a leading distributor of signage, advertising and LED solutions; Desert Sign Arabia, a leading distributor of a wide range of advertisement, sign and graphics supplies, equipment and machinery; and Alnab Almoudei Trading, a leading supplier for advertising materials, display stands, and more. Label It: A fast-paced labelling competition Elsewhere on the exhibition floor, Label It, developed in collaboration with Lawazen Trading Group, will challenge participants to test their speed and accuracy in a high-pressure labelling showdown. Held throughout the three-day event, this interactive challenge invites visitors to race against time to match product labels to their correct containers.
