SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters' brave line-up revealed where stars swim with sharks

The brave stars taking the plunge in new reality series SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters have been revealed from Call the Midwife star Helen George to Countdown's Rachel Riley. Forget SAS: Who Dares Wins and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, celebrities will be confronting their fear of sharks on this new reality series format. To mark the major milestone of 50 years of the three-time Oscar-winning film Jaws, ocean-phobic celebrities will swim with sharks. Filmed in the shark capital of the world, AKA the Bahamas, the stars will be pushed to their limits. They will be diving with different sharks and the breeds will get more dangerous each time. The show is filmed on the Bahamas island Bimini where there are 7-10 different breeds of sharks. On the island there are Hammerheads, Bull sharks and Tiger sharks. The stars must tackle fear inducing challenges head on while learning about the important role of sharks in the ocean. Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning ITV said: "SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters promises to be a once in a lifetime challenge for some of the bravest celebrities out there." Karen Plumb, Head of Factual Entertainment, Plimsoll Productions added: "We're constantly looking for innovative approaches to wildlife storytelling and are certain that our fish-out-of-water spin — delivering 50 years after Jaws — will transform the world's perception of these critical predators before it's too late." So who are the courageous celebrities diving with sharks? Rachel Riley, 39, is best known as the co-presenter of Channel 4 show Countdown and its spin off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The mathematics graduate has undertaken a totally different challenge by swimming with sharks in the Bahamas. She teases on Instagram of the experience: "I'll finally be able to talk about what was a completely life changing experience. You'll wish I was still embargoed for how much I'll want to talk about it. One more sleep…!" Actor Helen George, 40, is best known for her role as Trixie in BBC show Call The Midwife but she has a new unexpected role this year. She has experimented with reality TV before, having starred on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 but this time she's heading to the Bahamas to swim with sharks. Of the experience, she says: "One of the most insane experiences of my life, learning about this incredible creatures, with equally incredible humans." McFly's Dougie Poynter, 37, is putting his bravery to the test once again. It's been more than a decade since he was crowned the king of the jungle on I'm a Me Out of Here! in 2011. Now he's stepping back into the reality TV world with a stint on SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters. As a supporter of environmental causes, he has previously released a children's book Plastic Sucks! You Can Make A Difference to raise awareness about the small changes we can make to help save the planet. Sir Lenny Henry, 66, says he keeps saying no to Strictly — so instead he said yes to diving with sharks! The British-Jamaican comedian, actor and writer has been on our screens since he was 16 years old but he has never done anything as daring as SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters before. Paralympic medalist and TV presenter Ade Adepitan, 52, has set another huge goal to achieve as he goes diving with sharks. Of the adventure, he says: "I'm buzzing to announce I'm diving into a brand new show — SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters with these legends!" Stand-up comedian and actor Ross Noble, 48, has made regular appearances on Have I Got News for You? No doubt the funnyman will be cracking jokes as he conquers the real-life fears of sharks on the new reality series. Lucy Punch, 47, is immediately recognisable as Amanda in the BBC sitcoms Motherland and Amandaland. The actor is back on our TVs soon again with an unforeseen challenge. This time, she is going to be in the water with sharks for real on SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters. SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters is coming soon to ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.

TV star sells family home for seven-figures after bankruptcy

Ant Middleton has sold his family home for a staggering £1.35million after facing bankruptcy. The former SAS: Who Dares Wins star and UK special forces soldier was forced to put his house on the market after facing debts worth £1.2million. The decision came after the 44-year-old decided to move to Dubai a few years ago with his wife and children. At the time he claimed it was because he did not 'agree' with the UK's culture and was being 'unfortunately silenced'. Now, after selling his Essex home – which he bought for £1.16million in 2019 – the TV star could stand to make a fortune after he agreed a sale price with a buyer, the Sun revealed. When advertising his five-bedroom home, prospective buyers could see his £50,000 orangery, designer kitchen and standalone gym. The forced sale of his family home came after the liquidation of Ant's company Sway and Starting. It's claimed that he failed to stick to a payment plan and only returned one instalment of money he owed from his overdrawn Directors Loan Account. According to The Sun, Ant was served a statutory demand with a view to petitioning for his bankruptcy, and the TV star agreed to sell his house and provide the remaining amount owed. Sway and Starting went into liquidation in December 2022 and a statement of affairs from January 2023 revealed tax debts of £1.2million. Ant left Channel 4 reality programme SAS: Who Dares Wins back in 2021 after he had hosted the show since 2015. At the time, it was said he was axed over his 'personal conduct', which came after he made controversial comments in relation to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and Covid-19. More Trending After far-right protestors clashed with BLM demonstrators in London, Ant called both groups 'scum' in a since-deleted post on X, which read: 'The extreme left against the extreme right. When did two wrongs make a right. 'It was only a matter of time. BLM and EDL are not welcome on our streets, absolute scum. What a great example you are to your future generation. Bravo.' He later apologised in a video, insisting he is not a racist after facing severe backlash, saying: 'Within that tweet I mentioned the BLM and EDL and the word 'scum'. At no point was I calling the BLM scum and comparing the two organisations. I want to make that really, really clear. View More » 'The word scum was used to describe the people in the video that were violent, that were causing terror on the streets of London and setting a bad example for our future generations.' Ex SAS Who Dares Wins star Ant Middleton sells family home amid bankruptcy woes

Ant Middleton, the former presenter of hit reality TV series SAS: Who Dares Wins, has reportedly agreed to sell his lavish family home as his company faces potential bankruptcy Former SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ant Middleton has reportedly sold his sprawling family home amid claims he faces bankruptcy. The ex presenter of the hit reality TV series is thought to have had to put his house up for sale due to business debts which left him facing bankruptcy. Ant had initially bought the lavish property in Essex with his wife Emilie in 2019. They paid £1.16million for the home. ‌ Now, it's claimed the pair have sold the property at a profit - but didn't meet their asking price. It's reported they will bag a sale price of £1.35million. ‌ That is according to The Sun who say that despite not reaching his initial asking price of £1.5million, the couple will still gain a nice sum in profit for the home that has a £50,000 orangery and a standalone gym. It's said the sale was forced due reports in a liquidation update for Ant's company Sway and Starting, originally called Middleton Global. It's said that i t had been forced into liquidation by creditors despite it raking in £4.5m in 2021. The firm's statement of affairs reveals it was abandoned owing £1,199,000 to HMRC and £3,000 to other creditors. Before wrapping it up, Ant, 43, took out £2.7m as a director's loan, with the paperwork noting it was 'uncertain' how much would be repaid. Liquidators trying to claim back cash for creditors said in documents filed in February: 'We are in correspondence with the director regarding the loan account but a settlement is yet to be reached. ‌ "If a satisfactory settlement is not able to be reached it will be necessary for me to petition for the director's bankruptcy.' The accountants are also looking into any possible breaches of the Company Directors Disqualification Act and have sent a report to the Department for Business and Trade. Reports first surfaced in January saying Ant's company had gone bust owing £1.2m to the taxman. His spokesman said at the time: 'Due to the impact of lockdowns on Ant's work and associated adverse effects on the company, unfortunately Middleton Global Limited has had to be placed into voluntary liquidation. ‌ "Ant has an extremely busy year ahead and is focused on his TV work, brand deals, books and events.' The Mirror revealed in 2021 that Channel 4 had decided not to work with Ant again due to his 'personal conduct'. He had spent six years on the SAS: Who Dares Wins TV programme, which puts civilians through gruelling military training.
