TOKYO -- Japanese logistics company SBS Holdings plans to have foreign workers make up 30% of its truck drivers within 10 years, hiring 1,800 people mostly from Indonesia, Nikkei has learned, as Japan's transporters increasingly look overseas to grapple with the industry's labor crunch.
SBS will open a driving school in Indonesia this year and send instructors to teach Japanese traffic rules and language. Individuals will study in a boarding school for six months before coming to Japan.
