USC's Murray-Boyles named All-SEC
(WSPA) – University of South Carolina sophomore forward Collin Murray-Boyles was named Second Team All-SEC while graduate Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk earned SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced by the league Monday.
Murray-Boyles averaged 16.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. He ranked first on the team in all categories except assists where he came in second behind senior Jamarii Thomas.
The Columbia-native is just the 32nd player since the program joined the SEC in 1991 to earn All-SEC. He scored in double-figures in 27 of 31 games in the 2024-25 regular season and had at least 20 points in 11 games.
Murray-Boyles in the only Power Five player this season to average at least 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game while shooting about 50% from the floor.
Bosmans-Verdonk is the first player in Gamecock history to receive the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. The Lommel, Belgium-native is one of the only third-year law students in college basketball and will take the bar in June before starting a post-grad job in Chicago.
The forward has played in 76 games over three seasons at South Carolina.
