Nagarjuna's Shiva To Re-Release After Three Decades, Enhanced With Dolby Atmos
One of the most memorable parts of Shiva was its powerful background score and for its grand re-release, the music has been enhanced with Dolby Atmos technology. Thirty years after its original release, Nagarjuna 's iconic film, Shiva, is returning to cinemas in a special re-release. Announced by the superstar and director Ram Gopal Varma, the 1989 action drama will once again hit the big screen to mark the 50th anniversary of Annapurna Studios, the production behind the film. Now, fans will get to relive its magic in an upgraded format. Making the exciting announcement on X, RGV said, 'Shiva was known for its sound even at the original time, 30 years back when it was released. When we wanted to re-release it, we decided to kind of update it. We redid the sound completely in Dolby Atmos. Shiva is coming back in 4k Dolby Atmos sound, just wait and watch." People might have seen Siva before, but I promise no one has experienced it the way they will now, with its new sound." Nagarjuna On Film's Impact Speaking about the re-release, Nagarjuna shared, 'Siva was the film that gave me an iconic hero status, making my character truly unforgettable. The fact that it remains one of the most talked-about films even after 36 years motivated my brother Venkat Akkineni and me to plan its re-release in the grandest way possible. We felt we owed it to the audience who made it such a cult classic, and also to a new generation who may have only seen it on YouTube." Audiences will get their first look at the restored version of Shiva when its teaser will be shown with Rajinikanth's much-awaited Coolie, which also features Nagarjuna, on August 14. The teaser will give a sneak peek at the improved visuals and the new Dolby Atmos sound. After the Telugu re-release, the film will also return to theatres in Hindi and Tamil. More than three decades later, one of the greatest Indian films of all time is set to make history once again. Nagarjuna and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma have announced that they are bringing their groundbreaking action crime drama Siva back to the big screen in a grand re-release. Thirty-six years ago, Annapurna Studios' cult production Siva redefined cinema with its intensity and realistic action sequences, which had never been seen before. It shattered box office records while receiving tremendous critical acclaim. Now, on the occasion of the 50th year anniversary of the studio, the iconic 1989 film – which marked Varma's trailblazing directorial debut – is set to hit theatres once again. The sound of Siva has been completely redone from the original mono mix to Dolby Atmos for the first time ever using the latest and most advanced AI engineering technologies.
