Diriyah Company is currently taking part at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) trade show in Dubai to boost Saudi tourism, according to the Saudi Press Agency. Set to run until May 1, the trade show offers Diriyah Company an exclusive opportunity to showcase its project that spans an area of 14 square kilometers, along with various cultural and tourist assets. During the event, the Saudi company has signed a travel trade agreement with Saudi travel brand GoZahid to strengthen Diriyah's position as a prestigious global cultural and tourism destination. The new collaboration will focus on launching heritage campaigns to attract tourists, promoting destination marketing, training tour organizers and hosting specialized workshops. Therefore, this strategic partnership perfectly aligns with Diriyah's objective of welcoming 50 million visits annually by 2030. Diriyah Company Boosts Saudi Tourism at Arabian Travel Market The company has already made bold strides by attracting more than 3 million visits since opening its UNESCO World Heritage site of At-Turaif and Bujairi Terrace dining precinct in December 2022. Through the development of several cultural and tourism projects, Diriyah seeks to become the greatest gathering hub worldwide. Royal Diriyah Opera House The company has recently awarded a SR5.1 billion ($1.4 billion) contract to construct the Royal Diriyah Opera House, according to Arab News. This new contract represents an integral part of a series of contracts that commenced at the beginning of the second quarter of 2025. The series stands as a testament to Diriyah's continuous efforts to develop the historic area on the outskirts of Riyadh. Signed by Diriyah's Group CEO Jerry Inzerillo, the ceremony highlighted the presence of Khaled Al-Hazani, Executive Vice President of the lifestyle sector at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), and representatives of the three companies. 'The Royal Diriyah Opera House will be a defining asset in Diriyah, which reinforces Diriyah's growing global role in shaping Saudi Arabia's artistic and cultural future, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals,' Inzerillo said. Set to be the largest opera in Saudi Arabia, the opera house will feature a 2,000-seat main hall. Managed by the RCRC, the hall will be the centerpiece of this cultural complex, featuring a theater, studio, rooftop amphitheater, and numerous multipurpose halls. With a total seating capacity of 3,100, this hub will reshape the Kingdom's cultural landscape. 'This contract is an important step in our journey toward building a diverse range of assets across the Diriyah development area,' Inzerillo added. He also noted that this iconic architectural landmark will play a critical role in gathering people and offering them unforgettable performances. Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Diriyah Company has signed a SR5.1 billion ($1.4 billion) joint venture contract to develop the iconic Royal Diriyah Opera House. The agreement was signed with El Seif Engineering Contracting Co. Ltd. (ESEC), Midmac Construction Co. Ltd., and China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. (CSCEC), the world's largest construction firm. Designed by Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta Oslo AS, the Royal Diriyah Opera House will be Saudi Arabia's largest performance venue with a 2,000-seat main theatre. The project will also feature a studio theater, a rooftop amphitheater, and multipurpose halls, bringing total capacity to approximately 3,100 seats. The opera house — managed by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City — will serve as Diriyah's premier performing arts center and a cultural landmark, blending contemporary Najdi architecture with sustainability principles such as natural ventilation, water conservation, and thermal efficiency. The development is part of Diriyah Company's dynamic 2025 rollout, which has also seen the launch of the Media and Innovation District and the awarding of a SR426.3 million ($113.6 million) architecture and design contract to Omrania for projects along Diriyah's main avenue. Several international experts have been tapped for the project, including Schlaich Bergermann Partner (structures and facades), Buro Happold and Saudi Diyar (MEP works), Theatre Projects (theatre and acoustics), JLL (cost consultancy), and Plan A (design management). 'The Royal Diriyah Opera House will be a landmark asset at Diriyah that will support Diriyah's growing global role in shaping Saudi Arabia's artistic and cultural future,' said Diriyah Company Group CEO Jerry Inzerillo. 'This architectural masterpiece will bring people together in one of the world's greatest gathering places to experience unforgettable performances.' The opera house is a cornerstone of Diriyah's transformation into a cultural capital. The broader Diriyah project — one of the Public Investment Fund's flagship initiatives — is expected to generate 178,000 jobs, house 100,000 residents, attract 50 million annual visits, and contribute SR70 billion ($18.6 billion) to Saudi GDP.

RIYADH: The Diriyah Co. has announced the awarding of a SR5.1 billion ($1.4 billion) contract for the construction of the Royal Diriyah Opera House — one of the most prominent cultural assets of the firm's development plan under Vision 2030. Three companies have been awarded the contract to develop the opera house: El-Seif Engineering Contracting, Midmac Contracting Company W.L.L., and the China State Construction Engineering Corp. This new contract is a major addition to the series of announcements made at the beginning of the second quarter of 2025. It is a part of Diriyah's ongoing efforts to develop the historic area on the outskirts of Riyadh. The agreement was signed on Wednesday by Diriyah's Group CEO Jerry Inzerillo in the presence of Khaled Al-Hazani, executive vice president of the lifestyle sector at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, and representatives of the three companies. The opera house is set to become a primary center for the performing arts and an iconic architectural landmark that will redefine the Kingdom's cultural landscape. It will feature a 2,000-seat main hall, making it the largest in the Kingdom. The hall will serve as the centerpiece of this cultural complex, which will be managed by the RCRC. It will include a theater, studio, rooftop amphitheater, and several multipurpose halls, bringing the total seating capacity to 3,100. The opera house was designed by the renowned Norwegian architectural firm Snohetta, and features a contemporary Najdi aesthetic, using natural materials sourced from palm trees, and stone. The design prioritizes sustainability, incorporating water conservation, natural lighting, strategic building orientation, and thermal comfort measures. Inzerillo said: 'The Royal Diriyah Opera House will be a defining asset in Diriyah, which reinforces Diriyah's growing global role in shaping Saudi Arabia's artistic and cultural future, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals.' He added: 'This contract is an important step in our journey toward building a diverse range of assets across the Diriyah development area. 'This architectural gem plays a vital role in bringing people together in one of the world's greatest gathering destinations, to experience unforgettable performances.' Al-Hazani said that 'this agreement marks a major milestone in building this world-class operatic venue.' He said he was looking 'forward to welcoming the world's leading operatic and artistic talent in the future, and empowering the Kingdom's outstanding local talents.'
