The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) has published its 2024 Annual Report, outlining key advancements in regulating and developing coastal tourism. Over the past year, SRSA has strengthened integration, expanded partnerships, and introduced new regulations, licenses, permits, and technical codes to enhance infrastructure and elevate the sector's appeal, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's leadership in coastal tourism. Key performance indicators demonstrate SRSA's rapid progress in advancing coastal tourism, driven by its core mandates. These include establishing policies and strategies, issuing licenses and permits, and enhancing infrastructure to meet global standards, as well as fostering investment and marketing efforts in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Among the key milestones highlighted in the report are the issuance of 28 coastal tourism licenses and the introduction of the first regulatory framework for Saudi yachts. It also marks the launch of four technical codes, the first of their kind in the Kingdom designed to enhance coastal tourism infrastructure. Additionally, SRSA, in collaboration with the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information, has produced 15 high-quality nautical charts. Together, these initiatives form a robust regulatory framework driving growth in Red Sea coastal tourism. Further emphasizing SRSA's commitment to national development, the report details the training of 1,011 Saudis—both men and women—in coastal tourism through partnerships with the Ministry of Tourism. More than 130 compliance visits were also conducted at the sites of marina operators and maritime tourism agents to protect the marine environment and attract investment, contributing to the preservation and sustainability of the coastal ecosystem for future generations. Additionally, the report highlights SRSA's accelerated efforts to enhance coastal tourism, including the launch of the first national insurance product for coastal tourism activities in collaboration with the Insurance Authority. It also covers the signing of 16 agreements and memoranda of understanding with public, private, and nonprofit sector partners. Alongside these initiatives, the report outlines SRSA's receipt of three awards—global, regional, and local—including the Japan Tourism Award, the Marine Navigation Mapping Application Award, and the Tourism Company of the Year 2024. The 2024 Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of SRSA's achievements, underscoring the strong government support for the sector under visionary leadership and the unwavering dedication of Saudi professionals driving the industry's growth and success.

£40m rail upgrades for Cambridge South station completed
A £40m project to upgrade the railway infrastructure around a city's new station has been South Rail Systems Alliance (SRSA) needed to upgrade sections of the West Anglia main line, as part of the building project for Cambridge South won the contract for the works in September 2023, which included remodelling a branch junction at Sullivan, a programme manager for Network Rail, said it was a "major milestone" towards completing the station, which is expected to open early next year. He said: "This brand new station [is] for the south of Cambridge, the neighbouring biomedical campus and Trumpington communities."Cambridge South will be the city's third railway station and is aimed at boosting links to the growing science and healthcare sector in the area around Addenbrooke's is made up of Network Rail, railway infrastructure company Colas Rail UK, and the infrastructure consulting firm AECOM. SRSA said 3.5 miles (5.7km) of track between Shepreth and Cambridge was renewed and some of it was realigned to accommodate the new four-platform new switches allowing trains to go from one track to another were also installed and overhead electrical lines were next step is to carry out signalling upgrades, which are expected to be completed by the end of the year, while contractors carry on fitting out the new station. This is the future of AI, according to Nvidia
Recent breakthroughs in generative AI have centered largely on language and imagery—from chatbots that compose sonnets and analyze text to voice models that mimic human speech and tools that transform prompts into vivid artwork. But global chip giant Nvidia is now making a bolder claim: the next chapter of AI is about systems that take action in high-stakes, real-world scenarios. At the recent International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR 2025) in Singapore, Nvidia unveiled more than 70 research papers showcasing advances in AI systems designed to perform complex tasks beyond the digital realm. Driving this shift are agentic and foundational AI models. Nvidia's latest research highlights how combining these models can influence the physical world—spanning adaptive robotics, protein design, and real-time reconstruction of dynamic environments for autonomous vehicles. As demand for AI grows across industries, Nvidia is positioning itself as a core infrastructure provider powering this new era of intelligent action. Bryan Catanzaro, vice president of applied deep learning research at Nvidia, described the company's new direction as a full-stack AI initiative. 'We aim to accelerate every level of the computing stack to amplify the impact and utility of AI across industries,' he tells Fast Company. 'For AI to be truly useful, it must evolve beyond traditional applications and engage meaningfully with real-world use cases. That means building systems capable of reasoning, decision-making, and interacting with the real-world environment to solve practical problems.' Among the research presented, four models stood out—one of the most promising being Skill Reuse via Skill Adaptation (SRSA). This AI framework enables robots to handle unfamiliar tasks without retraining from scratch—a longstanding hurdle in robotics. While most robotic AI systems have focused on basic tasks like picking up objects, more complex jobs such as precision assembly on factory lines remain difficult. Nvidia's SRSA model aims to overcome that challenge by leveraging a library of previously learned skills to help robots adapt more quickly.
