S Radha Chauhan appointed full-time chairperson of Capacity Building Commission

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of S Radha Chauhan, IAS (Retd.), as the full-time Chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Chauhan, a 1988-batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre and former Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), will serve a tenure of three years from the date she assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The committee has also granted an extension to Adil Zainulbhai, the current part-time Chairperson of the CBC. His tenure has been extended from August 1, 2025, until the joining of the regular incumbent. The extension has been granted in relaxation of Clause B of the Terms and Conditions of Service of the Chairperson and Members of the CBC, in accordance with Clause L. The Capacity Building Commission (CBC) was constituted under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (Mission Karmayogi) and plays a critical role in driving reforms and enhancing the capabilities of India's civil services.
