Galatasaray Break Transfer Record To Sign Victor Osimhen On Permanent Deal
Last Updated:
The 26-year-old, who has been on loan with Galatasaray since the 2024/25 campaign, inked a four-year deal with the Turkish giants from Napoli in a deal valued at 75 million euros.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen completed the permanent switch to Turkish champions Galatasaray on Thursday in a club record move worth around the 75 million euro mark.
The 26-year-old, who has been on loan with Galatasaray since the 2024 season, inked a four-year deal with the Turkish giants from Italian champions Napoli.
Osimhen, who played a crucial role in Napoli's 2023 Serie A triumph, spearheaded Galatasaray's successful title thrust in the bygone season as he netted 26 times in 30 league outings to help the Istanbul club claim their 25th Super Lig crown.
'Regarding the transfer of professional footballer Victor James Osimhen, an agreement has been reached with his club, SSCN Napoli SPA," a club statement read.
'In this context, a net transfer fee of 75,000,000 EUR will be paid to the player's former club. Additionally, under the terms of the agreement, 10% of the profit from the player's next sale will be paid to SSCN Napoli SPA," the club added.
'A 4-year contract has been signed with the player, effective from the 2025-2026 season. According to the agreement, the player will receive a net guaranteed fee of 15,000,000 EUR per season, a net loyalty bonus of 1,000,000 EUR, and an image rights fee of 5,000,000 EUR," Galatasaray clarified.
Osimhen was missing from the training session at Napoli, who clinched their 4th Scudetto title under the stewardship of Antonio Conte in the 2024/25 campaign, the freshly crowned Serie A champions, at the start of the week while the fine print on his permeant switch to the Aslan were being concluded.
Napoli head coach Conte seemingly did not have the 26-year-old in his plans for his side's title defence next term and negotiations with Galatasaray had been ongoing for several weeks as talks had stalled over the terms of payment for the switch.
Napoli have been active in the transfer window as they have roped in Noa Lang, Lorenzo Lucca, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, and Luca Marianucci in addition to former Manchester City starman Kevin De Buryne.
