Where will Wrexham fans be watching the match v Charlton?
Should the Reds win against Charlton Athletic (and Wycombe Wanderers drop points v Leyton Orient) on Saturday (April 26), then they will be promoted to the EFL Championship. It will be another huge occasion for Phil Parkinson and his side at the STok Cae Ras. But, it's not just at the ground where Wrexham will find unrivalled support. Earlier this week, we asked our readers where they will be cheering the Reds on from. Here's what they had to say... Steve Heard told us: "In the paddock surrounded by family and friends that have been there for many years!" Olive Roberts said: "In our seats in the Mold Road stand." Angela England added: "I will be watching in South Lakes, Cumbria. Been a huge Wrexham fan since I used to go with my Grandad in the late 60's. "Went to all home matches for many seasons, particularly loved the Brian Flynn era. Come on you reds, go make history!!" TOP STORIES TODAY Isabeau Trevelyan said: "At home in Ohio wearing my Wrexham scarf and T-shirt, drinking coffee out of my Rob and Ryan mug!" Taryn Wheatley-Morris sent in the picture below and said: "In the only Wrexham AFC themed home bar in Barton upon Humber. While the majority of my family are going to be at the game." Simon Palmer added: "Unfortunately from Canberra, Australia - having to drink at 2.30am to settle the nerves." Phil Walker said: "At home in St Louis, USA with an ice cold Wrexham lager." Humphrey Ker 'astonished' by interest shown in Wrexham
Humphrey Ker, has become a familiar figure at the club - thanks in part to the Welcome to Wrexham documentary in which he featured. He has been working alongside Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds since the celebrity duo took over as co-chairmen of the club in 2021. The documentary they all featured in, couple with back-to-back promotions, has helped put Wrexham, both as a club and as a community, on the world map. New fans have come in from all over the world including Brazil, Canada, Iceland and more. And yet, during an interview on BBC News this week, Humphrey revealed that the level of interest shown by the club's American fans still 'astonishes' him to this day. TOP STORIES TODAY Rarely will you go to the STok Cae Ras these days without hearing an American accent or two as people travel over from the States to see what Wrexham has to offer. Talking to the BBC about the impact of Rob and Ryan and the documentary, Humphrey said: "What they (Rob and Ryan) are very aware of is, how much hard work has gone into this. From the outside, people think 'oh you know Wrexham have got money and that's all you need to be successful'. "But, it's not just as simple as spending money. Phil Parkinson, our manager deserves an unbelievable amount of credit. "It's extraordinary, what we've been able to do with the documentary and the football club is tell people in America why football is so significant to us. But, I'm astonished by the level of interest. "America is fascinated by English football and we (Wrexham) are a way in for a lot of people who don't follow it in other ways." Wrexham could well clinch a historic third consecutive promotion this weekend - something no ever team has ever done in the English Football League. A win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday (April 26), coupled with dropped points by Wycombe Wanderers, would seal promotion to the EFL Championship. Looking ahead to that, Humphrey said: "If results go the right way for us then, yeah there will be a bit of a party, which is quite bad for me because I'm running a marathon the next day." Humphrey will be taking on the Manchester Marathon in aid of the Wrexham Miners Rescue Project on Sunday (April 27). To get the fundraising ball rolling for Ker, Wrexham AFC co-chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds pledged £26,200 each to the fund. By now, the fundraiser has collected just over £85,000.
