Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb speaks on George Pickens and expected roles: We're both WR1
Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb speaks on George Pickens and expected roles: We're both WR1 Show Caption Hide Caption Five NFL games we can't wait to watch in the 2025 season The NFL schedule for the 2025-2026 season has been released. Here are a few games on our must-watch list. The Dallas Cowboys' offense has undergone a mini-makeover this offseason. Dallas traded for wide receiver George Pickens, shoring up the room alongside All-Pro CeeDee Lamb. They hope the revamped unit will return quarterback Dak Prescott to his 2023 output, where he finished runner-up in MVP voting. NFL SCHEDULE RELEASE: 49ers, Patriots among teams with easiest slates in 2025 The talented duo of Lamb and Pickens has some wondering how the chemistry will unfold on the field, especially with the unpredictable behavior Pickens displayed throughout his first three years in Pittsburgh. Some of those concerns could subside after both participated in Kyler Murray's charity softball game over the weekend, where Lamb discussed their collaboration in an interview with DLLS Sports. "We both ones (No. 1 receivers)," Lamb said with Pickens standing nearby. "It ain't no A, B, none of that. It's one. You look over there, you see one. You look over here, you see another one. So do what you gotta do with that." Pickens, Pittsburgh's second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, led Steelers receivers in receptions (59) and yards (900) in 2024. Lamb has been the unquestioned top receiver for "America's Team," leading Dallas with over 100 receptions and 1,100 yards in three consecutive seasons. You have to go back to Lamb's second NFL season (2021) for the last time he split targets with another receiver, Amari Cooper. Since then, no other Cowboys receiver aside from Lamb has surpassed 660 receiving yards or 54 receptions. SUPER BOWL ODDS: Who is the favorite to win Super Bowl 60 after 2025 NFL schedule release? Dallas ranked first or second in points per game for four consecutive seasons before 2024. They ranked 18th with Prescott healthy under center in eight games. Prescott posted a career-worst passer rating (86) and QBR (45.6) in those eight games. Perhaps the addition of a top-tier talent like Pickens at wide receiver is what the offense needs to return to form. Brandin Cooks signed with the Saints in free agency, leaving special teams maven KaVontae Turpin and Jalen Tolbert to battle for the No. 3 wide receiver spot.

2026 NFL Draft order: Projecting list of picks based on Super Bowl odds
2026 NFL Draft order: Projecting list of picks based on Super Bowl odds Show Caption Hide Caption Best AFC 2025 NFL Draft picks USA TODAY's Tyler Dragon breaks down which teams in the AFC drafted the best this year. Sports Seriously The world lives in a constant state of wondering what's next – whether that's wanting the latest technology or even just the next episode of a show they're binge-watching. So when the 2025 NFL Draft takes three days and 257 picks, the world doesn't bother to rest and reflect for a minute before turning the page. Instant gratification. There is a whole season to be played, with training camps and a preseason that only threatens to upend everything we believe at this moment in time. The NFL today might not be the NFL tomorrow or even the NFL two hours from now. Trades, signings, releases and so much more can change it all. Regardless, there is a 2026 NFL Draft that looms large with a quarterback class that promises at least a couple of game-changers. For the teams without their eyes on the Lombardi, they're already fixated on the now-upcoming draft, whether they want to admit it or not. It will be a while before the order finalizes or even begins to take shape, so we used the Super Bowl odds from BetMGM to give us an early glimpse into what the draft might look like next spring. SUPER BOWL ODDS: Eagles, Ravens lead the way after 2025 NFL Draft Projected 2026 NFL Draft order The defending Super Bowl champions still have arguably the league's best roster. It's their perch atop the league until someone knocks them off. Baltimore has experienced its fair share of demoralizing playoff losses, but oddsmakers still have faith in the Ravens. As long as they have the two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, they'll have a chance. The Bills know a thing or two about demoralizing playoff losses but tend to traffic more in the heartbreaking category. Josh Allen got them close again last season. Unless Buffalo is destined to be the New York Knicks or Detroit Pistons of the Michael Jordan era, it would stand to reason they'll get over the hump at some point. Kansas City is in a familiar spot after a beatdown in the Super Bowl. Forced to fix the offensive line again, the Chiefs took a one-year break from Super Bowl appearances when they faced a similar situation after the 2020 season. Perhaps a retool is on the way for the league's latest dynasty. Dan Campbell's Lions looked unstoppable heading into the postseason last year but suffered playoff heartbreak for the second year in a row. After seeing their coaching staff raided and some roster turnover, oddsmakers are a little lower on Detroit than the first four on this list. Things don't typically change fast in Washington, but the Commanders are the exception. They have competent ownership, a new stadium now on the way and a franchise quarterback. Watch out because the Commanders are threatening to take control. MORE: 'Let's come home': Commanders officially announce deal for new stadium in DC From Super Bowl contender to missing the playoffs entirely, San Francisco is working to get their mojo back. Some roster changes and the injury bug might prevent that from happening. The Bengals finally paid their receivers but now face continued questions about their overall collection of talent. Is it good enough to compete with teams that have deeper rosters and deeper pockets? Sean McVay's Rams looked like a Super Bowl contender at times last season and gave the Eagles the hardest game in the playoffs. They loaded up again and are a prime candidate to have a later pick than this come next spring. The Chargers feel like a team that could've taken a bigger step forward this offseason, but they'll instead look to see how far a new-look running game can take them. Chargers' Jim Harbaugh says team is 'pretty fired up' after adding Omarion Hampton, others If you look up and see a pig flying, that might be because the Packers finally drafted a receiver in the first round. This team faces additional challenges in a tough division, but health will be key for a team that struggles to stay whole every year. The Buccaneers are still the team to beat in a weak NFC South, but they've been unable to find playoff success despite their regular season advantage. They'll hope some offseason additions can help get them over the top. Minnesota was one-and-done in the playoffs after a magical season last year. They went from being considered a contender for the No. 1 pick to a team dreaming of a Super Bowl. They've since handed the keys to J.J. McCarthy, who is an unknown at the NFL level. The range of outcomes remains wide here. The Texans want to be thought of as contenders, but their offensive line is a question mark. If they can't keep C.J. Stroud upright, the playmaking talent on the team won't matter. All aboard the Ben Johnson hype train. The rookie coach has revamped Chicago's roster for 2025, giving Caleb Williams a real chance to take the next step in Year 2. Winning the offseason doesn't count in the standings, however, so there is plenty of work to be done in the Windy City. A surprise playoff team in 2024, the Broncos now have to build off that in 2025. They added plenty of reinforcements to the defense, but questions on offense remain, especially at receiver and with some unknowns at running back. The Steelers have a good roster but no quarterback. Until that situation is resolved, they are a team stuck in the middle. A team that wasn't good enough last year is now another year older, with the added potential of some significant departures still looming. Miami has questions on defense and could face even more on offense with a roster that is far from finalized. The Seahawks have undergone a major transformation this offseason, with many new faces. That is especially true on offense, but this team will go as far as Sam Darnold takes them. NFL DRAFT GRADES: Ranking all 32 teams' 2025 classes, including baffling Browns The Cowboys focused their draft on the trenches, aiming to remake the recipe that previously delivered success in Dallas. They are still facing questions at receiver and will have to address that to compete next season, especially with the teams around them getting better. Atlanta worked on improving their pass rush throughout the draft with their limited picks, but their 2025 season will come down to Michael Penix Jr. If he can take the next step, they'll be a team dropping down the draft order. If he isn't as advertised, this feels like a likely spot for their pick. The defense figures to be much improved next season, but what about the offense? Arizona's been a stagnant franchise in recent years. They might've hit their ceiling with Kyler Murray as a somewhat forgotten franchise that gets buried at the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff every week. New year, new Patriots. Mike Vrabel is running the show now and bringing some reinforcement with him. New England should take a big step forward this year with Drake Maye in his second season, but it remains to be seen if that's enough to compete in a crowded AFC. Also sporting a new head coach, the Jaguars are starting over again. The hope is that Liam Coen stops the revolving door at head coach and proves to be a long-term coach for Trevor Lawrence. The pieces are in place here and with a weak AFC South, Jacksonville can easily contend for the playoffs next season. As currently constructed, the Colts appear to be a team that could move up the draft order by this time next year. The quarterback room is a giant question mark and that spells doom for any team. Unless they make strides, Indianapolis could easily contend for a top quarterback in next year's draft. What are the 2025 Raiders? Are they a playoff contender or a team with misguided optimism? They aggressively remade their roster and added some exciting pieces in the draft. The AFC West is unforgiving, but this group is a fascinating one to watch next season. Are the Jets' issues coaching or personnel-related? Many of the same pieces are still in place from last year outside of a new coaching staff, front office and quarterback. The Jets have hitched their wagon to Justin Fields, hoping they can fix the quarterback. If that fails, then the team does too. New York could challenge for a playoff spot or be selecting a new quarterback near the top of the draft with a great class looming. It might be now or never for Bryce Young. The quarterback made strides in 2024 but might've been saved by a weaker quarterback class than usual. Carolina added around Young, who still has a lot to prove in his third season. If the Panthers don't get a definitive answer, they'll be in a spot to reset the quarterback clock in the next draft. The Saints have a Derek Carr-shaped cloud hanging over the roster this offseason, complicating matters for new head coach Kellen Moore. New Orleans has continued their half-measured approach, refusing to commit to a total rebuild. That is despite not being good enough to win a Super Bowl. It all catches up eventually and 2025 may be the year for New Orleans to bottom out. The draft prize of doing so is certainly worth it. Welcome to the NFL, Cam Ward. Tasked with saving the Titans, this roster will need a lot more than just Ward to turn things around. The rebuild is in full swing, so don't expect a miracle here. THERE'S NOT A SIMPLE ANSWER: Why did Shedeur Sanders fall in the NFL draft? Cleveland has more quarterbacks on their roster now than they had wins last season. To make matters worse, none of them seem to be a long-term answer. The Browns have work to do, but their ceiling doesn't feel particularly high at the moment. The Giants have the longest odds to win the Super Bowl but don't expect that to last. New York's defense might not allow that to happen, with plenty of talent sprinkled throughout. They have multiple players that can get after the quarterback and still possess an offense with Malik Nabers. After factoring in the quarterback upgrades, the Giants likely won't challenge for a top pick in 2026. When is the 2026 NFL Draft? The 2026 NFL Draft is slated to be held from Thursday, April 23 to Saturday, April 25. Where is the 2026 NFL Draft? The 2026 NFL Draft will be hosted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. All the NFL news on and off the field. Sign up for USA TODAY's 4th and Monday newsletter. New report pushes for permanent pedestrian-only Bourbon Street to boost Mardi Gras safety after terror attack
New Orleans' most famous street could soon see sweeping changes if city leaders follow through on bold new safety recommendations after a New Year's Day attack that killed 14 and injured dozens. On Monday, the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation (NOPJF) released a statement about a major safety review conducted by Teneo Risk, a global security firm led by former NYPD Commissioner William J. Bratton. The report is blunt. Bourbon Street is dangerously vulnerable, and unless big changes are made, the city remains exposed to future attacks. At the top of the list? Turning Bourbon Street into a permanent pedestrian zone. According to the report, vehicles pose a serious threat to the crowds that gather daily in the French Quarter. SAINTS LEGEND DREW BREES AMONG MANY PRAISING INCREASED SAFETY MEASURES AT SUPER BOWL LIX The current layout of Bourbon Street makes it easy for a vehicle-ramming attack to happen again. The report recommends a hard perimeter setup that would only allow emergency vehicles, deliveries and hotel drop-offs at certain times. According to the report, "Bourbon Street is extremely vulnerable to a vehicle ramming attack any time of year," citing narrow sidewalks, frequent pedestrian spillover into the street and a lack of permanent protective barriers. The firm also said the Department of Homeland Security's "SEAR 1" rating, given to Mardi Gras 2025 for the first time, should be made permanent. That rating brought more federal resources to New Orleans this year, including extra security equipment and personnel. The report claims those resources were essential to protecting the public and should be in place every a city of around 400,000 residents, Mardi Gras weekend can easily welcome over 1 million visitors from around the GENERAL PAM BONDI TO TRAVEL TO NEW ORLEANS TO SURVEY SUPER BOWL LIX SECURITY In addition to the Bourbon Street changes, the report highlights weaknesses in emergency response access, officer staffing, coordination between agencies and the city's intelligence capabilities. Teneo found intelligence gathering by the New Orleans Police Department remains mostly reactive and lacks advanced tools and formal coordination protocols. The report was based on extensive research, including site visits, document reviews and interviews with city officials, law enforcement and community members. Teneo observed security operations firsthand during the 2025 Super Bowl and Mardi Gras 2025 and used those events to evaluate real-time vulnerabilities. While the proposal for a permanent pedestrian zone could raise concerns of residents and business owners, Teneo said the change is the best way to protect pedestrians and prevent another attack.
