Beaufort County Commissioners weigh the costs of Closing SW Snowden
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — At Monday's Beaufort County Commissioners meeting, county commissioner Hood Richardson filed a motion to request the difference in cost between closing SW Snowden Elementary and keeping it open.
The motion also includes a request of the cost for transferring students to Chocowinity Primary, where SW Snowden students would attend it it's doors were to close.
The motion was voted down by a 4-3 vote. This comes less than a week after Beaufort County Schools voted to put the discussions of closing SW Snowden on hold. Richardson says he is hoping for more answers, and is extremely disappointed in the outcome of his motion. For more information, click on the video above.
