In the past four years, 20,000 tourists have toured the historic building of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters
MUMBAI: Around 20,000 tourists from Mumbai and around the world have toured the historic BMC headquarters building from January 2021 to July 2025. The tours are organised jointly by the BMC, MTDC, and Khaki Tours every Saturday and the first meeting of the BMC was held on September 4, 1873, the current main building of the headquarters began operations on January 16, 1893. Since then, the municipal corporation has been effectively overseeing Mumbai's governance in the magnificent building, constructed in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style.
