KOTA KINABALU (July 5): The Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) officially opened its doors in Kota Kinabalu on July 5, heralding a new era of accessible and efficient consular services in Sabah. This landmark occasion was officiated by Datuk V. Jothi JP, president of the Sabah Indian Chamber of Commerce (SICC), whose visionary leadership continues to drive impactful initiatives for the Indian community in Sabah. He was joined by deputy president, and SICC Management Committee members. Located at Lot No. 53, Ground Floor, Asia City, the centre is operated by IVS Global Services under IVS VMS Malaysia, and offers a one-stop solution for a wide range of consular, passport, and visa services – all now available right in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. From passport renewals to emergency documents, from visa processing, the ICAC brings India closer to home. Led by its President Datuk V. Jothi JP, it distributed goody bags containing daily necessities and festive treats and brought a specially decorated cake to mark the occasion. 'Today is about honouring the sacrifices, strength, and unconditional love of mothers many of whom have shaped not just families but entire communities. 'Our presence here is a humble gesture to show them they are seen, valued, and remembered,' Jothi said.
