Azizi triumphs in main Kickboxing bout
MUSCAT: The "Sports Spark Fighting Championship" in boxing and kickboxing concluded on Friday evening, organised in collaboration with "Sabco Sports" and " Scorpionest Martial Arts Academy," as part of the ongoing "Sports Spark" activities at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC). The championship attracted a large audience of over 2,000 spectators from various ages and nationalities, who enjoyed an atmosphere filled with excitement and interaction with the bouts featuring a selection of local and international fighters. Boxer Azan al Balushi, a competitor in the main event fight Over four hours of competition, participants showcased powerful fighting displays and thrilling matchups across different categories and weight divisions, with 20 fighters from Oman and various Arab and foreign countries engaging in 10 exciting bouts that reflected the advanced level of combat sports in the region. In the kickboxing bouts, Badr al Farsi and Hussam al Hinai emerged victorious, while Emar bin Bashar al Balushi and Amer Mohammed Orabi excelled in the open boxing competition. Smash Series badminton concludes with thrilling finale at OCEC
MUSCAT: The Smash Series Badminton Tournament, organised by ProEdge Sports as part of the Sports Spark initiative at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), came to an electrifying close, offering a refreshing escape for sports lovers during the scorching summer. Over four days, more than 200 badminton players competed across nine categories, drawing hundreds of enthusiastic spectators who filled the air-conditioned courts with energy and excitement. In the Under-11 Girls' Singles, Vamika Vinod emerged champion while Diya Balaji was runner-up. The Boys' Under-11 saw Shazil Mohammed claim the title, with Aditya Singhal as runner-up. In the Under-15 Girls' category, Shenelly Louis triumphed over runner-up Pallavi Abhilash Nair. Aman D'Costa won the Boys' Under-15, with Ian George as runner-up. The Under-19 Girls' title went to Uttara Abhilash Nair, with Ameenah Sehr as runner-up, while Himnesh Shahalot won the Boys' Under-19 against Vaibhav Ramdas. In the Mixed Doubles, Beetha Mansoori and Vaishakh Nair took the crown. The Men's 'B' Doubles title went to the duo of Jebin Jacob and Sandeep, while Anis Lal and Nithesh emerged as champions in the highly competitive Men's 'A' Doubles category. 13,000 runners from 60 nations make Muscat Marathon a success
Muscat – The Experience Oman Muscat Marathon 2025 brought together a vibrant community of over 13,000 runners from more than 60 countries over February 21-22, providing a unique platform for local and international athletes to compete at the highest level. Held under the patronage of Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and organised by Sabco Sports, with Al Mouj Muscat as founding partner and venue host, this year's event marked its most diverse and successful edition yet. With record-breaking participation, the marathon reaffirmed its status as a world-class running event, showcasing Oman's rich culture, stunning landscapes and growing prominence on the global sporting stage. Runners of all ages and abilities competed in a variety of categories, including the highly anticipated 42km marathon, 21km half marathon, 10km and 5km races, a children's race and 2.5km Fun Run sponsored by Ooredoo, all designed to encourage inclusivity and community engagement, a press release said.
