Haggie Fire in Wilton area threatens multiple homes, evacuation advisory issued
WILTON – A fire burning in the Wilton area is threatening multiple homes, forcing an evacuation advisory for several residents late Thursday morning, firefighters said. The Haggie Fire is burning in the area of Haggie Lane and Collings Road. It broke out around 10:45 a.m. The fire is threatening several structures, forcing an evacuation advisory for people living along Haggie Road. Firefighters said residents should be prepared to evacuate and follow the instructions given by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. Fire crews said the fire has burned about one acre in light, flashy fuels and is spreading at a moderate rate. People are urged to avoid the area. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Davis police arrest one in connection with Picnic Day shooting
( — One person has been arrested in connection with the Picnic Day shooting in Davis in April that injured three people, the Davis Police Department said. According to police, detectives identified 19-year-old Joseph Davis as a suspect. On Thursday, detectives and deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office arrested Davis at his home in Sacramento. Police said Davis is facing several firearms-related charges, including possession of an illegal assault rifle, and assault with a deadly weapon. The Davis Police Department previously said it believes that there was more than one shooter involved in the incident. Deputies search for 78-year-old woman missing from Sacramento County
( — The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to find a missing woman who it said is at risk. Deana Mary Fenton, 78, is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, 170 pounds, with white hair, green eyes, and was last seen wearing light pastel colors and a visor. Deputies said she resides in Rancho Cordova, and was last known to be driving a red 2014 two-door Smart car westbound on Interstate-80 in Vacaville. Her license plate number is 7EIS871. Crews battle growing fire near Sacramento-area elementary school Fenton was deemed at risk because of a diagnosed mild cognitive impairment and suffers from short-term memory issues, according to SCSO. Minors allegedly shoot each other in south Sacramento
( — Two minors were hospitalized on Monday after allegedly shooting each other, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. Video Above: Understanding Common Gun Terms The sheriff's office said the shooting happened on 7120 East Parkway. SCSO said the shooting was a result of a possible shoe deal gone wrong. The two male juveniles were taken to the hospital. Deputies confirm that both minors were initially taken for non-life-threatening injuries, however, one of the juveniles is now in critical condition since arriving at the hospital. Surveillance video shows California homeless woman set on fire in horrific attack
Video shows a driver pulling over her car and setting a homeless woman on fire before allegedly kicking the burned victim and fleeing in her vehicle. Disturbing surveillance footage shows the suspect — identified as 34-year-old Jacqueline Popaibarra — turning her car down a quiet street in South Sacramento April 26 before stopping next to a homeless encampment. Popaibarra got out of her vehicle and began to argue with the 49-year-old homeless victim, who had just set up to sleep for the night, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. The victim positively identified Popaibarra, who has since been arrested on an unrelated robbery charge, as her assailant Tuesday. Popaibarra is in custody on $400,000 bail for the alleged attack.
