Brazil Receives $247 Million Investment for Reforestation and Sustainable Development
Brazil has received approval for a US$247 million investment plan to promote reforestation and increase the use of nature-based solutions, the international media partner of the event, and a partner of Sada El-Balad, reported. The plan, approved by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), will finance restoration projects in the Amazon and Cerrado. The investments include US$47 million from the CIF, US$100 million from the Climate Fund through the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and US$100 million from the World Bank. The funding will be channelled to the private sector to support rehabilitation projects and the creation of sustainable production chains. Nature, People and Climate (NPC) Investment Plan for Brazil supports the development of nature-based solutions to combat climate change, restore ecosystems and strengthen the resilience of rural communities. The plan is expected to lead to the restoration of 54,000 hectares of forests, reduce CO2 emissions by 7.75 million tonnes and create up to 21,000 direct and indirect jobs. Brazil now has 18 months to develop an implementation plan and detail the projects to be developed under the NPC. The news of the approval was first reported by official website of the Brazilian Government.

India's Digital Economy Nears $1 Tn as IPO Market Booms: BRICS TV
Ahmed Emam India's digital economy is on a rapid growth trajectory, approaching the US$1 trillion milestone, driven by a thriving IPO market that accounted for over 30% of global listings in 2024, according to BRICS TV, the international media partner of Sada El-Balad. The country captured 31% of the world's IPO volume last year, raising US$3 billion in total funding. Projections indicate that India's market capitalisation could reach US$13 trillion by 2030, bolstered by strong investor confidence and the rapid expansion of its startup ecosystem. With over 100 unicorns and an expanding pool of soonicorns, Indian startups are evolving beyond hypergrowth, prioritising profitability, premium offerings, and omnichannel strategies. The IPO market saw more than 330 listings in 2024, underscoring increasing trust from both domestic and global investors. Meanwhile, rural commerce is emerging as a key growth driver, fuelled by improved accessibility and rising consumer aspirations. Moreover, the B2B sector is undergoing a transformation, with technology-driven supply chain innovations unlocking new global opportunities.

India Discovers Remarkable Plasma Behaviour in Moon's Ionosphere
Yara Sameh The Indian Chandrayaan-2 mission has uncovered significant effects of Earth's geomagnetic tail on the Moon's ionosphere, challenging previous assumptions about plasma behaviour in the lunar environment, the international media partner of the event, and a partner of Sada El-Balad, reported. A study found unexpectedly high electron densities in the Moon's ionosphere when it enters Earth's geomagnetic tail. This suggests that lunar crustal magnetic fields may play a far greater role in shaping plasma dynamics than previously understood. Using an innovative two-way radio occultation experiment, researchers analysed S-band telemetry and telecommand signals transmitted by the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter. These signals revealed electron densities reaching approximately 23,000 electrons per cubic centimetre, nearly 100 times higher than those observed on the Moon's sunlit side. New findings suggest that remnant lunar crustal magnetic fields could be trapping plasma, preventing its dissipation, and leading to localised electron density enhancements. These insights are crucial for upcoming robotic and crewed missions, as high plasma densities can impact radio communications, surface charging, and lunar dust interactions.

Oman and Bahrain host "Russian Seasons" events
The international cultural project "Russian Seasons" has been launched in the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Residents of these countries had the opportunity to witness spectacular dance performances, take part in masterclasses, and learn more about Russian traditions, TV BRICS, the international media partner of the event, and a partner of Sada El-Balad, reported. In the capital of Oman, Muscat, the city's main square hosted the grand concert programme "The World Through Dance", featuring the legendary State Academic Honoured Dance Ensemble of Dagestan, "Lezginka". Performing in Oman for the first time, the ensemble captivated the audience with its vivid and emotional choreographic numbers, immersing spectators in the atmosphere of the Caucasus. In addition, masterclasses and themed events dedicated to Russian traditions took place at the Spring Festival venue. Residents of Muscat became acquainted with the customs of Russian Maslenitsa, tasted blini (pancakes), learnt the art of painting Tula gingerbread, and tried their hand at making clay toys. The programme continued with engaging educational activities, where children created their own animated films and discovered the secrets of animation. On the stage of the Bahrain National Theatre, the "Lezginka" ensemble presented the same programme as in Oman, performing choreographic compositions such as "Welcoming Lezginka", "My Heart is in the Mountains," "Celebration in a Mountain Village," and "Daggers". The concert was met with enthusiastic applause from the local audience. Children in Bahrain also took part in masterclasses on creating animated films, with more than 60 children participating over two days. Professional animators from Russia delivered lectures on new technologies in animation, sparking interest among local specialists. "I am delighted to provide a platform for joint projects between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and 'Russian Seasons.' Our programme includes events for children, where they create their own animated films based on Russian folklore. I just attended such an event at the library and saw how passionately Bahraini schoolchildren engaged in the activity! I look forward to further collaboration with 'Russian Seasons'," said Haya Ahmed Al Sadah, Director of the National Museum of Bahrain. The "Russian Seasons" events in Oman and Bahrain will continue throughout the year. This large-scale project, initiated by the Government of Russia and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, aims to introduce international audiences to the country's rich cultural heritage through concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, film festivals, educational programmes, and other events.
