Oman and Bahrain host "Russian Seasons" events

The international cultural project "Russian Seasons" has been launched in the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Residents of these countries had the opportunity to witness spectacular dance performances, take part in masterclasses, and learn more about Russian traditions, TV BRICS, the international media partner of the event, and a partner of Sada El-Balad, reported.
In the capital of Oman, Muscat, the city's main square hosted the grand concert programme "The World Through Dance", featuring the legendary State Academic Honoured Dance Ensemble of Dagestan, "Lezginka". Performing in Oman for the first time, the ensemble captivated the audience with its vivid and emotional choreographic numbers, immersing spectators in the atmosphere of the Caucasus.
In addition, masterclasses and themed events dedicated to Russian traditions took place at the Spring Festival venue. Residents of Muscat became acquainted with the customs of Russian Maslenitsa, tasted blini (pancakes), learnt the art of painting Tula gingerbread, and tried their hand at making clay toys. The programme continued with engaging educational activities, where children created their own animated films and discovered the secrets of animation.
On the stage of the Bahrain National Theatre, the "Lezginka" ensemble presented the same programme as in Oman, performing choreographic compositions such as "Welcoming Lezginka", "My Heart is in the Mountains," "Celebration in a Mountain Village," and "Daggers". The concert was met with enthusiastic applause from the local audience.
Children in Bahrain also took part in masterclasses on creating animated films, with more than 60 children participating over two days. Professional animators from Russia delivered lectures on new technologies in animation, sparking interest among local specialists.
"I am delighted to provide a platform for joint projects between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and 'Russian Seasons.' Our programme includes events for children, where they create their own animated films based on Russian folklore. I just attended such an event at the library and saw how passionately Bahraini schoolchildren engaged in the activity! I look forward to further collaboration with 'Russian Seasons'," said Haya Ahmed Al Sadah, Director of the National Museum of Bahrain.
The "Russian Seasons" events in Oman and Bahrain will continue throughout the year. This large-scale project, initiated by the Government of Russia and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, aims to introduce international audiences to the country's rich cultural heritage through concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, film festivals, educational programmes, and other events.

"John Wick" Spinoff "Ballerina" Final Trailer Released

Yara Sameh Ana de Armas' new John Wick spin-off is due in theaters in less than one month, and the spinoff just got its most thrilling new look yet. Lionsgate has released a new trailer for "Ballerina", which hits theaters on June 6 and stars Armas as Eve Macarro, a Russian ballerina-turned-assassin with an eye for vengeance against the men who killed her family. The film also returns franchise veteran Keanu Reeves to the role of John Wick, with other stars such as Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick reprising their roles as Winston and Charon, respectively. Norman Reedus, best known for his role in The Walking Dead, will also star in Ballerina. The new footage features several new scenes and footage of both Armas' Eve and Reeves' John Wick, including one showing John eyeing Eve with a sniper. 'Ballerina' takes place between 'John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum' and 'John Wick: Chapter 4,' expanding the assassin role originally played by Unity Phelan with de Armas' take on the character. The film comes two years after audiences saw Reeves in the fourth entry, which became the highest-grossing installment in the series with a worldwide gross of over $440 million. Altogether, the first four 'John Wick' films grossed over $1 billion worldwide. This latest installment in the 'John Wick' universe marks another turn from de Armas as an action star following her roles in 'No Time to Die' with Daniel Craig and 'Ghosted' alongside Chris Evans. In 2023, de Armas received her first Oscar nomination for her turn as Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik's 'Blonde.' This isn't the first time 'John Wick' has ventured into spinoffs: the prequel miniseries 'The Continental,' starring Mel Gibson, released on Peacock back in September 2023. 'Ballerina' is directed by Len Wiseman ('Underworld') and written by Shay Hatten ('Army of the Dead'). Kaley Smalley Romo executive produces alongside Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski, who all produced the first four 'John Wick' films. 'Ballerina' releases in theaters June 6 from Lionsgate. Pasant Elzaitony The Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, led by Ibrahim Kamel, held a commemorative event in Cairo marking the 61st anniversary of the historic diversion of the Nile River during the construction of the High Dam, an iconic symbol of Egyptian-Soviet cooperation. The celebration was attended by representatives from the High Dam Builders Association, the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, and leading figures from both countries. In his remarks, Kamel emphasized the dam's enduring legacy as a symbol of national pride and international solidarity, confirming continued collaboration between Egyptian and Russian cultural institutions. Soviet engineer Valery Marchenko, who participated in building the dam, joined via video and shared heartfelt memories of the 1960s partnership. He recalled the emotional moment of diverting the Nile, friendships with Egyptian colleagues, receiving the Quran as a gift, and his connection to Egypt through music and shared sacrifice. 'Write to me, mother. I am in Egypt,' he quoted from a letter written by a fellow engineer. The event included performances of Russian folk songs, a photo exhibition honoring Soviet and Egyptian builders, and a screening of The Nile and the People, the Egyptian-Soviet film directed by Youssef Chahine, celebrating the spirit of cooperation that built the dam. read more 2 Most Inspirational Green Projects in Egypt AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT to Strive over Viewership Tonight Egypt Marks 70th Anniv. of 2011 Revolution, National Police Day In Depth: WWE NXT Halloween Havoc In Depth: AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT Tuesday Viewership Strive Videos & Features WATCH: Egyptians Break Ramadan Fasts in Matariya Videos & Features GrEEk Campus Hosts Jobzella Fifth Career Fair Videos & Features 3 Iconic Ramadan Songs of All Times Videos & Features Top 4 Destinations to Visit in Upper Egypt News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War
