Reports indicate that Sunjay accidentally swallowed a bee, which may have triggered an allergic reaction, leading to the heart attack. His funeral took place on June 19, 2025, at Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi, delayed due to legal formalities related to his US citizenship. Sunjay Kapur is survived by his wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, a Delhi-based model-turned-entrepreneur, whom he married in 2017. The couple shared a son, Azarias Kapur, born in December 2018, now aged 6. Priya, visibly devastated at the funeral, had previously shared heartfelt glimpses of their family life and their close-knit bond on social media. Sunjay is also survived by his two children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor (2003–2016): Samaira Kapur, aged 20 (born March 11, 2005), a student with aspirations in filmmaking, and Kiaan Raj Kapur, aged 14 (born March 12, 2011), a student. Both reside primarily in Mumbai with their mother, who retained custody post-divorce. Samaira and Kiaan share a warm bond with their half-sibling Azarias and Priya's daughter from her previous marriage, Safira Chatwal, whom Sunjay adopted as a stepchild. Samaira and Kiaan maintain a warm bond with their half-siblings, Azarias and Safira, as one can tell from the family photos shared by Priya Sachdev on Instagram, including celebrations like Raksha Bandhan and Diwali. Samaira celebrated her 18th birthday in 2023 with both parents and Priya's family present. Sunjay described her as his 'first love" in a heartfelt post on X. Remember to be responsible and live your life to the fullest. You are beautiful inside out. And we are all so proud of you," he had posted. On Kiaan's 15th birthday in March 2025, Sunjay had shared a photo with him and a heartfelt post on X. 'Happy 15th, Kiaan! The Zoo announced Friday morning that male jaguar Banks is a potential love match for its resident female jaguar Safira. Banks was born on April 7, 2023, at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Banks and Safira are close in age, and once Banks completes his quarantine period, Cameron Park Zoo staff will make the introductions. The Zoo says Banks and Safira's pairing is part of the The Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan in order to help ensure the survival of threatened and endangered species. Their upcoming introduction is an exciting step forward, and the Zoo eagerly anticipates the day we can all watch them interact, play, and maybe even start a family of their own!
