Five get life in jail for killing man in Darbhanga village

Darbhanga: Additional district and sessions judge-III of Darbhanga court on Friday awarded rigorous life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh each to five accused—Sunil Kumar Jha of Balaur village under Manigachhi PS and Kishore Kr Chaudhary; Raghvendra Chaudhary; Dhruv Kr Chaudhary and Sidharth Shankar Chaudhary of Lagma village under Sakatpur PS in Darbhanga district—for killing one Madan Mohan Chaudhary of Lagma village on Jan 1, 2016. According to assistant public prosecutor (APP), Renu Jha, who conducted the prosecution, the killing took place in connection with a controversy regarding appointment of teacher in Shri Shankar Sanskrit School, Lagma. All the five accused called the victim, Madan Mohan, and killed him and threw his body. Jha said Mohan Chaudhary, brother-in-law of the victim, lodged an FIR in Sakatpur PS in this regard. Prosecution produced 10 witnesses in the court. All the five accused were convicted on June 18 and sent to judicial custody. If they don't pay the fines then they will have to remain in jail for another one year.
