Libyan military delegation visits Italy to boost defense cooperation
A Libyan military delegation has visited Italy to strengthen defense ties between the two countries, the Libyan Ministry of Defense has confirmed.
Lt Gen Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush, Deputy Chief of General Staff in Libya's Government of National Unity and Commander of the Western Coastal Military Region, led the delegation during the official visit on 15 July.
He was accompanied by the Director of the Defense Minister's Office and held talks with Italy's Chief of the Army General Staff, as part of the Libyan-Italian Military Cooperation Committee.
According to a statement from the Western Coastal Military Region, discussions focused on joint training programmes and capacity-building efforts for the Libyan Armed Forces.
The delegation also visited an air base on the Italian island of Sardinia, where they observed live training exercises provided by Italian forces, under the framework of bilateral defense cooperation. Tags: Libya Italy relations
