Was Salim Khan Not Confident About Salman's Bollywood Career? Farah Khan Says...

Farah Khan, in her latest vlog, revealed that Salman Khan's father initially had serious doubts about his son pursuing a career in the showbiz world. Salman Khan needs no introduction. Fondly known as Bhaijaan, the Bollywood superstar has a devoted fan base across the globe. But his journey into stardom wasn't always smooth sailing. In filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan's latest vlog, she revealed that Salman's father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, initially had serious doubts about his son pursuing a career in the showbiz world. During an exclusive house tour of actors and siblings Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem's stylish bungalow, Farah had a heart-to-heart conversation with them. The two shared their struggles convincing their parents to support their acting dreams. Huma recalled, 'Mom was a little scared, particularly since we didn't know anyone in Mumbai. Both our parents were very scared, wondering how we would survive." She added that she was the first to express her desire to act, followed closely by her brother, Saqib. 'I was the first to reveal my acting aspirations, and six months later, Saqib followed suit." Saqib recounted having a conversation with their father. He said, 'When I told Papa that I wished to go to Bombay, he sat down, looked at me, and said, 'Tujhe hero banna jana hai (you want to become a hero)?' He put so much doubt in my mind that it took me 10 days to make that decision." Salman Khan's Father's Doubts Hearing this, Farah Khan revealed that another father had similar doubts regarding his son's potential to become an actor, adding that Salim Khan was sceptical about Salman Khan, but he eventually proved him wrong. 'Salim Khan had the same doubt about Salman Khan, and now he's Bhai," she stated. Farah's revelation about Salim Khan helped reassure Saqib, who responded with a beaming 'Fantastic, fantastic!" Salman Khan's Father's Advice Salman Khan, meanwhile, recently shared a cryptic yet thoughtful post on X (formerly Twitter), quoting advice from his father. He wrote, 'Present becomes yesterday's past, the past catches up 2 your future, present is a gift, do right with it, mistakes repeated become a habit n then your character, don't blame any 1, no 1 can make you do anything that you don't want to. My dad just said this to me, it's so true." 'Kash, I heard this earlier, but it's never too late," he added, clearly moved by his father's wisdom. Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem's Professional Lives The actress will soon be seen in the neo-noir comedy Baby Do Die Do. The film, also starring Chunky Panday and Sikandar Kher, is a dark comedy that blends satire and emotional chaos. Huma plays a character who walks the tightrope between relatable and outrageous, promising to showcase her flair for unconventional storytelling and complex roles. This film marks the maiden project under their newly launched production house, Saleem Siblings. Huma will then reprise her role in the fourth season of the critically acclaimed political drama Maharani. The show delves deep into corruption, political conspiracies, and personal struggles, making it one of the most talked-about web series in India. She also has the courtroom drama Jolly LLB 3, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. Saqib Saleem, on the other hand, was last seen in the web series Crime Beat. The drama series, directed by Sudhir Mishra and Sanjeev Kaul, also starred Saba Azad and Sai Tamhankar in key roles. Now, he is roped in for a Manoj Bajpayee project, which also stars Akshay Oberoi and Priyanka Bajaj Sibal. Salman Khan's upcoming projects As for Salman Khan, the superstar is gearing up for his next big-screen outing, Battle of Galwan. The war drama, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, will showcase a gripping account of the 2020 Galwan Valley Conflict. Based on the novel India's Most Fearless 3, the film is expected to go on floors soon. Salman is also reportedly in talks with renowned Malayalam director Mahesh Narayanan for an upcoming high-profile project. view comments First Published: July 30, 2025, 11:00 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) After his post, netizens dropped heart emojis and expressed their love for the superstar. Salman was recently seen in Sikandar, alongside Rashmika Mandanna. The film also starred Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj, Jatin Sarna, Sanjay Kapoor, Prateik, Smita Patil, and Kishore. In the film, Salman plays Sanjay "Sikandar" Rajkot, a man trying to fix his past after a tragic incident. Despite the big names, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, failed at the box office. Khan will don the army uniform in Apoorva Lakhia's directorial Battle of Galwan, based on the Galwan valley clashes at the India-China border in 2020. Twenty Indian soldiers had died during the Galwan valley clash on June 16, 2020, while the Chinese side too faced heavy casualties. Following the clashes, tensions between India and China rose with the army deploying formations near the Galwan Valley, along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, and undertook a range of activities such as surveying border areas to stop a "possible" Chinese aggression. Since the clashes, India and China have disengaged from various border areas steadily, and have also created a buffer zone in various areas. Salman took to social media earlier to announce the project, unveiling a powerful motion poster.
