‘Treasured' horsewoman, 18, killed in horror crash on her way to Royal Welsh Show as family pay heartbreaking tribute
A YOUNG horsewoman, tragically killed in a horror crash on her way to the Royal Welsh Show, has been remembered as 'endlessly caring' and someone who 'lit up any room she entered'. Sally Allen, 18, from Cresswell Quay in Pembrokeshire, died on Wednesday morning following a collision on the A40 at Broadoak, between Carmarthen and Llandeilo. In a statement, her family said: 'Sally was a much-loved sister to William and Issie, and a treasured daughter of Richard and Kate. 'She was a beloved granddaughter to Nanna, Bamps, Nanny and Pops and was loved by all her aunties, uncles and cousins. 'In only 18 years of her life, she touched the hearts of so many people within her community, her school, her work and social life. 'She was a girl who found happiness in attending Young Farmers Club, including Martletwy YFC. "She enjoyed horse riding and her day-to-day life at home in Cresswell Quay. Tributes to teen who died in A40 crash near Llandeilo
Teenager Sally Allen of Cresselly, Pembrokeshire died at the scene of the two-vehicle collision on the A40 between Carmarthen and Llandeilo. Her mother, Kate Kenniford-Allen, in a heartbreaking post on Facebook, asked everyone who knew and loved Sally to share their tributes. She said: 'All we now have of our beautiful Sally is memories and photos. Let's now let her know just how special she really was to so many people. "The hole you have left, Sal, is enormous and I have no idea how we are ever going to manage without you. We need to keep you alive in our minds. 'Love you forever my 'baby girl' xxxx" Hundreds of people have responded with messages of shock and sympathy, remembering Sally as 'a true gem', 'one of a kind who made you smile every time you saw her' and 'the most wonderful girl ever'. A special eucharist will be held in Jeffreyston Church at 10.30am tomorrow morning, Saturday July 26, to which everyone is welcome to attend. Parish priest Father Paul Davies said: 'Prayers will be offered for the family and members of the community in their grief." A book of condolence is also being opened at Tenby's Greenhill School on Monday, July 28, when the school will be offering a supportive space. The school said: 'We are deeply saddened by the passing of Sally Allen, a highly valued and respected member of the Ysgol Greenhill community. "This news has come as a profound shock to us all, and our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the Allen family and all those who knew and loved Sally during this difficult time. "The school will be open on Monday 28th July from 10am–12pm to offer a quiet, supportive space for pupils, friends, and community members to come together. "Staff and Educational Psychologists will be on hand to provide support, and a book of condolence will be available for anyone who wishes to leave a message of remembrance. "For those attending, please enter via the main hall doors and proceed to the Year 11 study area. Staff will be available to offer support from 10am. "Parking will be available at Tenby VC Primary School, as the school site remains closed for maintenance. "With deepest condolences." Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for witnesses following the tragedy, which occurred on the on the A40 at Broadoak between Carmarthen and Llandeilo. A spokesperson for the force said: "Police were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision at 8am, Wednesday July 23. "The collision involved a red Renault Clio and Blue Audi Q5. "Sadly, the female driver of the Renault passed away at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. "The occupants of the other vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. "The road was closed for collision investigation and has since reopened. Anyone who was travelling along this road at the relevant time and has dash camera footage is urged to contact us."
