Meet Salonee who was not selected for Team India, now to play for Shah Rukh Khan's KKR in...
Salonee Dangore's name may be new in Indian cricket, but this player has got a big chance to make her mark in the world of cricket. Salonee Dangore will soon be seen playing in a foreign cricket league. The special thing is that Salonee Dangore has not played any international match yet. Not only this, she has never been a part of the Women's Premier League (WPL). In such a situation, the selection of this player in a foreign league is quite surprising.
27-year-old leg spin all-rounder Salonee Dangore has secured a contract with Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the 2025 Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) without playing international cricket and making a place in the Women's Premier League (WPL). This achievement is special because it is rare for an uncapped player to be selected in a foreign T20 league. Saloni was born in Indore, where she devoted her early years to athletics. Saloni, who competed at the national level in 100m, 200m race and long jump, had no interest in cricket.
She was around 17 years old when she started playing cricket. In the last two Women's Premier League seasons, Dangore was a net bowler in Delhi Capitals. Now she is one of the four foreign players in TKR along with Lizelle Lee, Shikha Pandey and Jess Jonassen.
Saloni considers Australian legend Shane Warne as her idol and learned the technique by watching videos of his bowling in slow motion. Salonee Dangore told ESPNcricinfo, 'I was inspired by Shane Warne and the way he spun the ball. But my hand used to move in the other direction and most of my balls turned out to be googlies. So I used to watch his videos in slow motion to understand how he used to do it.
Salonee Dangore made her domestic debut for Madhya Pradesh in 2017-18. However, she did not get many opportunities in the initial years.
In search of better opportunities, she moved to Chhattisgarh ahead of the 2024-25 season. This decision gave a new direction to her career.
In the ODI tournament for Chhattisgarh, she took 15 wickets in 6 matches and scored 144 runs. Now she is ready to play in the Caribbean Premier League.
